Workplace Ballot?

I returned to the office today after being on leave, the duration covered the period when I thought the "Workplace Ballot" re the pension should have taken place. However when I asked people about said ballot they said it did not happen, was this the case across the UK? If so why was the idea kicked into touch?

No ballott still going ahead as far as I know - I voted on Tuesday. Closing date is 31 March 2008 now I think.

I voted but ONLY because I read about it here.

Walked into the CWU office in building and REQUESTED a ballot.

Is this the way it should be done?!

My rep voted for me (I missed the vote) but as he knew which way I'd vote I have no major problems with it.

I got a phonecall on friday to inform me of the ballot,which had taken place on tuesday. I'll be very pissed off if I find out ANY union rep has used my ballot paper without my permission. I would have voted against the pension plans anyway but still dont like the idea of a rep being too lazy to pick up the phone and ask.
I am a postman and I kept the faith and I kept voting, not for new labour but for the working man.
