It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

He's got a point though, 180,000 posties with a half life of 180,000 years will affect pension projections.

Maybe its time for a honest and civil debate on what the CWU and its officers should and should not be doing?

Personally i think that we should stick to RM/BT/VM/A&L etc etc issues and employment law issues and health and safety law issues, what on earth trident (no matter how intresting and serious a issue it is) has got to do with a union representing workers in the communcation sector is something i struggle to grasp.

I presume you would have them aimed at the union killing militias in Colombia?

It could be argued that it is in most CWU members best interests not to be incinerated. Also there is the question of funding, perhaps if the defence of the realm market were to be fully opened up to competition ,some Somali warlords might be able to offer a more cost effective service.
Still we're not short of cash, thats another £30,000,000,000(30 Billion) this week to prop up all those hard up banks ,just like last week and the week before. Keep an eye on the old inflationometer, 1.5% aint looking good and pensions capped at 5% oh oh

Or Indonesia , lets face it, any country where the CIA takes an active interest in industrial relations you get lots of dead workers
