I've found out I've got an apprentice working with me next week and was wondering if I get paid more like a work place coach?
I'm on a lapsing walk and I usually take 1 & 1/2 walks out for the overtime sometimes 2 walks as I have a young family and I'm saving for our first home, if I'm placed with an apprentice it'll dry up my OT negatively effecting my wage.
Any one had any experience of this?

Why will it affect your overtime? Take the apprentice back at end of duty, come back out for overtime and book the transit time as extra overtime to usual!

If you are actually 'training' someone and not just showing them a route then you get a daily allowance for 'training', if you are doing it all week then you should (I would of thought) get the full allowance.
Where there is more than one New Entrant commencing in the same week Coaches will be required to provide a suitably experienced individual that the New Entrant can shadow. These individuals will receive the daily non-school training allowance for each day they are assisting with the Delivery Coaching.

I feel your pain. It doesn't necessarily need to be an apprentice or a new starter to mess up your daily OT. Funny that someone has said what's the problem getting him back to the DO at the end of duty. We have a young lad in our office that will take ridiculous amounts of O/T, but only if they give him his own van & dumps his partner, he will take out his walk, someone else’s walk, loops & packets & do a deal for 9/10/11 hours O/T & he’s still back in the yard & off home before most of us plodders get back
