A total tosspot by the name of Richard Scudamore, wanted to turn the premier league into a three ring circus, all in the name of globalisation.

I am a Full Time regular, i have been told that if my normal tour of duty is from 7:30 to 4:00 pm (8 Hours), if i ended my tour of duty at 1595 (5 clicks before 1600) that management will automatically give me the 5 clicks / clock rings to make my 8 hours. Does anyone know if this true ?

Just goes to show that postal workers world-wide are in the same situation. It is amazing that in the UK alone, we have 140,000 (?) posties and what, about a dozen maybe twenty people who actually benefit from the imposed changes. Let's not forget that the public are suffering as well and for what? So the city fat cats can get richer and it's the same in the USA, France, Germany, hang on, I'll get an atlas and compile a list. The point is that in most countries the postal industry is the last one remaining in public hands and the vultures are circling.

The public don't see that however, all they see is a decreasing level of service and they take their anger out on the wrong people. They blame those on the front line. It's only a matter of time before we're calling our rounds a 'tour of duty'.

Big business can never have enough money and at the end of the day our political elite want to get on the gravy boat so will pander to big business to get it.

The postal business is certainly changing. We used to transport a great deal of information in letter form - the information often takes other routes now. We're carrying a higher volume of material things though. Most letters don't have a cash value, but things in packets do. Any business involved in their transport can expect to take a cut of that value in exchange for safe delivery - and it's an expanding market.

The business vultures will want to scare all the governments away from the postal sector so that they can cash in. Making unreasonable changes to our pay and pensions so that we look difficult to work with is part of that process.
