Scheduled Attendance Policy

Post by BlameSimon »

Hello all,

Can anyone provide me with information related to the SA policy, specifically:
if SA falls during an annual leave week - do I still have to attend?
If I don't have to attend, is this paid and who has to arrange cover?

I am now being told I must arrange cover for it if I take it as part of my leave week but I have had conflicting information and they have been unable to provide me anything printed/on paper to confirm.
I'm sure it was in my contract that SA is paid when on leave but I'm not sure about the cover... Unfortunately I seem to have misplaced my copy of the agreement/policy.

Also if anyone signed on SA can provide a copy of the policy that would help massively.

Thanks in advance.

When you sign for a SA you have to provide the name of a substitute.
They don't get paid SA for covering annual leave.

Thankyou for the link.

I note it states: 'the responsibility for ensuring the cover is worked rest with the person who was given the undertaking.
If SA is not covered without adequate reason, royal mail will regard the agreement as being cancelled.
Note: absence through entitled period of annual leave would be adequate reason as would notified sick leave.'

So, unless I am mistaken, annual leave is deemed adequate reason to take it off without arranging cover, no?
