Voc revision
Any news about the recent VOC revision, are the new duties going to start soon ? Is the whole thing going to be cancelled ? Do we need all VOC’s to comply before new revision begins ?

Re: Voc revision
As usual the process is shrouded in secrecy, Union reps tasked with sorting the duties holed up in their bunkers giving out little information and allowing rumour to run riot. The new Network was supposed to start last week, a selection of the Chinese Whispers i’ve heard :
Atherstone, now a VOC, duties in chaos as ex-NDC manager that declared he was clever enough to sort them has f*cked up and they don’t work.
North West have chucked their duties out as unworkable, as have South West.
Mail Centres have been trying to get rid of Weekend elements they’ve been allocated, so these have been bouncing around the Network, hoping to find someone that wants them.
NDC now at a Stage 3 disagreement regarding Saturday Duties, they feel they have a disproportionate allocation.
Not heard anything about when they want to start the new Network. The North West Parcel Hub is due to open in the Autumn, so that will create more change in the system.

Re: Voc revision
Spoken to drivers from several VOC’s, all feel that the Duties that have been cobbled together are terrible. I wonder whether the Union have played a subtle master stroke. No new drivers will want to work the awful shifts that will be on offer, once they realise the promises that were made at their recruitment interviews were lies - I doubt that those with fewer than 5 years Seniority will be ignoring the “Golden Handshakes” that other Logistics operators are offering, and they can virtually pick their shift ! Therefore maybe Royal Mail will be forced to offer more money to try and tempt in the LGV drivers it seems short of.
Someone said that of the 43 drivers recently recruited at NDC, 9 have already left.
