Question regarding booking annual leave help.

Post by postiewhite »

Hi. My GF has been offered a postperson job on 26hrs on a fixed term contract til Feb 22. I also work for RM and before she got the job we had earmarked a holiday in March 22.
I have a couple of questions regarding this.
Firstly Can I go ahead and book this holiday given that her temp contract runs out a month before? Obviously she wants to hopefully stay with RM past that and hopefully she may get a further extension to that contract when the time comes?
Secondly when we all have to fill out our annual leave forms at the end of the year for the 22/23 year then will my GF get an option to pick even though her temp contract runs out in Feb 22?

My uninformed thoughts are, yes as I'm pretty sure they have an obligation to honour pre booked holidays for new members of staff, (have they asked if she has any pre booked holidays ?)

And probably yes because a, her contract may have been extended by then and b, more likely they'll just include her in the holiday pick regardless.

My uninformed thoughts concur with ted-e-bear on both parts.

In our office march is an easy month to get annual leave as no-one wants to be off feb or march
