For the record the London Divisional Committee today agreed unamiously to w joint statement which resloves the issues which led to the withdrawal from revision activity. It'is not for me to post the joint statement on this board but no doubt it will at some stage find its way on here! Needless to say all the branch secretaries and area reps voted yes that it stopped Royal Mail from breaking the national agreement.

Of course no doubt we will get criticised from other units who have allowed Rotal Mail to get away with what they want. Funny that it is me and those who stand up for themselves who get abused.

As a unit rep Dingo,I am prepared to take bullets from the "back bench". This meaning that I do not have the luxury of a wide sweeping statement and not being accountable for it. Thanks for the valuable updates. You have been held accountable on these forums and I personally thank you!

You still don't get the whole union thing dingo.
If it's all about standing up for yourself, well then members would probably be as well turning their back on a national union.
When other areas were complaining about issues you were coming on here downplaying problems and posting about how talk of failed revisions was just anecdotal scare stories and look how many revisions were working.

I don't think it really matters that it's London because i think your mindset would be the same no matter where you were from,as long as you and yours are all right i don't think you give a toss about the rest of the union.
I've never came across a trade unionist with such an insular attitude to protecting member's interests.
While the National Officers are touring the country, hopefully getting feedback from reps and hopefully trying to find a way to dig the entire union out of the mess it finds itself in and preparing reps for "an almost inevitable collision" with the employer....you and yours is making deals to protect....you and yours.
Nice.
Good luck with that.
Regional pay bargaining next? :cuppa

Regional Pay ............ :hmmmm .........now I thought we already had that with the London loading allowance. Perhaps we should look to having regional organisation, with regional subs and regional responsibility and accountability - it would certainly be cheaper than bankrolling the high rollers at 150 The Broadway. I mean we would need less hangers on, cheaper office space and of course a say in pensions for employees and they would be employed not elected for life. As for dingo and his union support..........well it seems the support is only one way.

fish a few months ago when I wrongly got personnel to you , you quite rightly told me there was no need.

yet you have accused me of a numbers of things which you have no evidence to back up. As A trade union rep I have looked after and supported lots of people in needs and not from my own area. I was on the Burslem picket line during the all out strike on Christmas eve , I have been on marches all round the country in support of various groups of workers in struggles.

I tried to get the CWU at conference to resolve the failed revisons in all parts of the UK , there were none in London. So I do care and I do believe that all members should have good representation in the CWU and I have not just argued that on this forum but nationally.

I could be popular on this site and go along with the theme of most posts tht everything which is happening is the thought of either the union or Royal Mail. But it simply not the truth and most will anowledge on the quiet that it is not like that. Circumstances not within either organisations power has combined to change the face of Royal Mail. Declining revenue from competition and the effects of the digital revolution.

Add that to Royal Mail 's strategy of automation and removing costs and the government desire to privitisate the industry all add up to the most difficult and challenging times ever. Anyone can criticise on this forum as you can be in denial of what we all face as your not in any position of responsibility to change or influence the above.

I am possibly the only person above area rep level to post on this site nowadays , I tried to give information which people are not aware of and I try and give a different view then the norm on this site. I can deal with the criticisms that people want to make cause I deal with members face to face and know they believe I help make a difference and I meet regular with local reps.

Now in terms of regional pay bargaining well in 1988 I along with the rest of London was out for 3 weeks nonstop strike to stop regional pay from being introduced as Royal Mail wanted to do so. Apart from Liverpool and Covertry we were out the longest and Would have benefited the most from such a plan. So I don't have to prove my postion on regional pay to anyone.

The reality as most will know that London Weighting and those who are still in reciept of the DRAS payment now known as defined area protects regional pay bargaining rather then leads to it. Every independent research including corner reward which compares prices across the UK for commuter costs , petrol costs , child care , hairdressers costs , dental costs , shopping costs etc detail that the cost of living in London is more expensive then in other parts of the UK. This is why there is such a thing as London Weighting.

Now if people on this site would rather that I did not post and that you wanted to have a love in with you all sharing the same views then fine.
