Ah yes. If rhetoric were bullets all those who deny the working class would be dead, if rhetoric formed mandates at elections we would be living in utopia - however reality is what it is.

Sadly you seem to be far too old to even contemplate a better place to live in and that of course is your choice. I on the other hand take a different view and that is to fight back for what is right for working people and to try to stop what will be happening to you and other people after you and they have retired. Glad to say where i was there were many seniors who dont hold your veiw and were out and about protesting on J30.

Repetitive rhetoric right back at you only you have achieved nothing for yourself or your peers typing on a computer but if you get anything in your old age it will be the protesters that get it for you not those that just type negatives on a computer and do nothing else. A bit like those that work whilst you and i strike but take all the pay rise.

Well we went on strike last time and fought for.................. a pay cut, also shared by those who worked. The flock go on the streets not at their own behest but at others. It may be true that I am too old to contemplate a better place BUT age brings a cynicism wrought by years of seeing the same old same old and a belief that there is truly nothiing new under the sun.

Now is the world, no lets be more specific, is my world a better place? Unequivacally not......is there respect for the law, obedient children, can you leave your front door open, is there unity either in the work place or in the unions that carry the name, is society more fair now than 40 years ago?

The only way you will be able to answer the question of what YOU have achieved is 40 years from now - and I'll just bet your view then will be as jaundiced as mine is now. I of course won't see it.

Thankfully the British secret service logged their ID's and monitored their activities and communications ever after. Of course, silly me. All those unemployed miners scavenging for little bits of coal on slag-heaps during the slump of the 1930s, and standing in line for meagre hand-outs, so what better thing to do than go and fight in a far-off land leaving the wife and kids to thier own devices?
I expect they all searched down the back of the settee for a few quid and hopped on the midnight ferry from Dover, just on a whim, eh Bell?
If you want to dispute the point, try and make it just a little joined up with historical facts, eh?

I understand your cynicism and as an individual respect your right to give up but what i find hard to forgive is your need to dissuade those that wish to carry on the fight using your bad experiences as justification. Maybe you have given too much and can never again take up the fight but i suspect given time you could again take up the fight using your life experiences as a weapon to help empower others. Are you unwell? I only ask because i have such changes in people that are going through illness.

In its own way that’s fighting talk and that i can respect! I will happily stand beside the old and embittered as well as the young and idealistic because we are the workers, the "movers and shakers" the earners the owners, the working people. Good luck and peace on your journey as i have found thus far on mine. When ready you could be awesome for the working people here and everywhere else and if not that is the loss for all working people. There is no need to talk about lost battles with the employing class because we all live through it and have suffered, we must look to the future and i would ask you to look at those vids again in the context they were posted. Generations of new fighters stepping up for the fight. Yes many were "Trade Unionist" just looking out for themselves and their pensions but also many were looking at the bigger picture and were willing to keep the fight going and expanding it to their own issues.

Solidarity and Respect two words Tman undoubetdly understands the defintions of, but perhaps dislikes the application of, at least on RMC.
