He's no doubt working with a bunch of w*****s,he's stating facts, and what is going on is not his fault.
My apologies that was not my intention.

My D.O has not had extra time for new houses yet, but the growth is at a level where the DOM wants it no longer absorbed by the 2 oversized pkt/pouch dropping off duties along with the early RLE duty but to actually have a OPG taking on the new estate. Without recruitment that will not happen untill revision is planned and introduced. Part of the 2150 is around 600 DP's going up on a old peice of industrial alnd at the entrance to one of our villages which is currently done by 3 FT duties. Those dwellings buit so far are being aborbed but once all are built, more hours will need to be allocated to the village.
If there are so many finishing before their time you shouldn't need to put any more hours in as quite obviously you have more hours than you have work.

Hours going in dont have to be new hours, they can be recycled hours. Regardless of where the hours come from, new duties will need to be created and that means over the 3 year transformation plan, we are very very unlikely to end up with less hours.

Spoken like a true Politician again BD. As an IR Rep your members do what they want against national agreements and you seem? To have contempt for them but your office is fine? You have WS mail and no revision to go with it and the job cuts with that and your office is ok despite that? As a P/T you are better off with the new D2D stuff do your lapsing all year round (Job cuts to the rest of us) and as their REP you have NO concern about whats coming , your office is unreal its perfect! Our office is thought to be hardline but we still have dicks that break all H&S rules to complete and dont book. I have no issues with you either but i want to know if its so good why are you not CWU GSPS at least? You can still fill a page with words facts and figures and never answer a question. Postman thinks this is getting personal and from my point maybe it is? But maybe also i am lucky to have a good REP that does not allow these sort of things to go unchallenged and educates the membership about the dangers. I have to stop now and wont bother you all again as with all things on RMC its MY our thoughts. Found a song you all may like give it ago. PS BD for GSC, CWU!

LJR

WS ?

Do you mean Sorted or Sequenced?

My D.O has sorted not sequenced mail, sequenced mail is not due for my branch area untill late 2011 and RML have scheduled a sequenced mail revision and the delivery methods revision both scheduled for year 3 of the transformation program.

The members breaking agreements is interesting view/perspective. Ive only ever seen breaking agreements as either CWU reps or RML managers as the ones who can break agreements. I shall have to give it some thought , perhaps the CWU should campaign to tighten employment law in terms of taking of breaks? Some action on MR breaks is needed from HQ, for example why didnt 2010 have a clause that mangement will enforce the taking of MR, after all its a national issue.

Now MR not being taken for my D.O pre dates J and F and pre dates my time as a rep and came about due to the time taken to do IPS, Prep and delivery along with travel out and back meaning that the amount of time left of duty was so little that once a MR was taken OPG's would only have a small amount of work hours left, so we did a small amount of work as directed by mangement and then went home early. What happened is mbrs got a taste of having MR at the end of duty and have stuck with that ever since as current local mangers reconise that a proportion of J and F is down to non taking of MR and coming in early plays a part.

Problem is that when you add on MR time and coming in early time to the time mbrs are going home its not enough to fill out ther spare time they have gained. So either carving up delivery is happening or there is a lack of indoor workoad leading to delivery being started well before what is needed to ensure OPG finshes on time. I say indoor rather than outdoor for a very good reason and that is IPS finshes a lot earlier than a few years ago, not because of lower mail volumes but due to increased amounts of mail being walksorted which means less mail to be sorted by hand.

My D.O HAS had the pegasus treatment but on what a lot of posters on here would describe as generous settings, which were 88% call rate and a 3hr 15 mins span. Those settings came from the agreement between the Area Delivery Rep and senior delivery mangement in our area. Pegasus took out one FT urban bike delivery and boosted PT hours from 28 to 30 weekly and the revision was put to a vote of local mbrs and voted in.

I have no contempt for my mbrs I get on all right with them, I and a handful of mbrs just wish they would calm down on the amount of time they make. I do not think my D.O is fine but neither is it hell on earth.

Reality is the non sequenced mail revision will help eradicate spare capacity in duties, any structural change before revision is forbidden.
