With the 2% and the new supplement pay will go up to £375.16 and in year 3 with the compound effect it will be at £390.73 and in all pay rises thereafter it will increase regardless of whether door to door increases or is automated. Apart from it not being pensionable it is guaranteed.
Of course for inner and outer London it is more as the supplement will increase with London pay ranges.
Now of course everyone wanted the supplement higher but last year only 51.4 million paid out whereas in the agreement the CWU has captured 55 milllion.
Some posters state they dont need extra work but when you have walk sequencing and that reduces your indoor element then you will need extra work to mantain jobs.
Look at UNITE in the British airways situration they were willing to take two pay cuts in return for safeguarding jobs. Well the CWU have captured the total monies for door to door and got it into workload which will save jobs in an environment where 48% of companies got a zero per cent pay deal this year.
Yes I can understand if your losing money of course you will be angry. But do you really think that door to door will continue as they are by rejecting the deal.
We are facing unprecedented change. The company is not in a great financial postion, in simple terms for the next 3 years they will be spending more than they receive. This is without the new pension deficit and with not having to repay the commercial loan for 3 years.
So of this extra £3.6 million, how much will be going to employees who do not ever touch door to doors?
Surely the sensible option would be to increase the cap/ do away with it altogether, but keep the same method of payment - i.e. the people actually doing the work get paid appropriately for them. Very rarely do I recieve less than 3 D2D items. With 600 calls I make around £30. Straight away, I am going to be a tenner a week down, without taking into account the extra work prepping and delivering the additional D2D's that will be recieved. And yet, some of my colleagues who dont do ANY D2D work at all are going to see £20.60 extra in their pay packet at the end of the week. With th greatest respect to these colleagues, where is the fairness in that?
EDITED to say, I will actually be down over £12 due to the ridiculous pro-rata part of the supplement.

In the end it comes down to individual gripes and no one caring about the bigger picture. Dingo has it spot on and some of you just don't have the noddle to see why the CWU are backing this. By all means go out on strike again and kiss your ass goodbye. It will be fun to watch. Might even get my deckchair out again for this one.
No wonder this country is such a mess. If only the old adage, "if it 'aint broke, then leave it the feck alone", was paid more heed to.

That's the problem. The union *only* cares about full-time workers. Not a whiff of help for part-timers who want to be made up to full hours. They have been screwed over completely and I advise them all to ditch the union asap as I will be doing after my vote is cast.

This point is dead on.
It would have been fairer to keep the same method of payment so only those that deliver them get the money. Why should delivery staff struggle financially and see the cash go to admin, drivers or callers staff for example who never do them AND start later.
By keeping the method of payment the same the workload still increases by putting D2D into traffic figures thus still securing full time jobs. Payment would be achieved by NOT paying people who do not deliver them and giving the money from that to those THAT DO. Staff would also be motivated to provide a better quality product as they know they are being paid according to the load AND not getting bullied as time would be allowed to prep and deliver them.
How thick are the CWU? it really does beggar belief.
Ill be voting no mainly because of this and the pro rata for part timers issue.
I went out on strike so people could be treated FAIRLY and EQUALLY in the workplace. This hasnt happened so it a NO.
If D2d are preped and delivered in Royal Mails time why on earth would they continue to pay you extra for doing them. Perhaps the Executive are not getting the credit they deserve for looking into the future.

BECAUSE IT IS AGREED THAT THE MAXIMUM LIMIT WILL BE 3 PER WEEK AND THEY WILL BE PAID ACCORDING TO THE MATRIX THAT THE PREP AND DELIVERY WILL BE IN NORMAL DUTY TIME. Now if they go against that agreement what on earth makes anyone think they will stick to any other - however if they do not stick to it then you could reasonably expect the union INSIST that the agreed procedure is adhered to.
How is that the case? If I am taking 20% of 3 door to doors just now and have an average call rate of say 85%, how will taking 20% of 5,6,7... however many door to doors make any difference to my call rate?
This question is conveniently being ignored, for obvious reasons.

if that is the case i will be cutting off every saturday, my delivery was tested earlier this week at 4 hrs 50 minutes and that was around 90% of my delivery points

Strange you should mention that because a manager was asking if I'd heard the call rate - i said I hadn't heard but I didn't expect it to be 100% for obvious reasons - his response was - "what would happen if there was a specific D2D on Saturday and then people decided to cut off" - well in truth I would imagine the cack would hit the fan unless of course they knew it was coming and flexed you down one day to flex you up on Saturday - not that I suggested it of course but they aren't all dumb - what price innovative duty structures to reflect the needs of the business - well you will have seen the rewards page

the only way flex would work at our place is on a tuesday and even tuesdays are not as light as they used to be and if anything i expect the 1 hour cut in the week will come from tuesdays, so that will be flex hit on the head

But your walk will be totally different anyway. Amazing new tools will make your workload fair and manageable.
"Planning for operational change in delivery units will be done using national planning and measurement systems, and revision tools to ensure that workload is assessed and applied accurately, is fair and manageable, and indoor processes and outdoor delivery routes are optimised, efficient and achievable – recognising any specific local issues that may need to be considered."
d2d are already supposed to be prepped and delivered in duty time
you only flex upto 30 minutes..not an hour
D2D delivery under new agreement is over 6 days, its up to the walk holder how much he delivers day to day,it doesnt need to be 20%(PERSONALLY I WILL LEAVE MOST OF MINE FOR THE COVER SEEING AS IM PART TIME)

D2D's have ALWAYS been prepped and delivered in Royal Mail's time.
