I agree you can't shut every debate down under the "conspiracy theory"banner its linked to our pay by the economy.

The danger is every thread on this site is disappearing down the same rabbit hole.

Same people posting yet another version of the same s**t on every thread.

These same people never offer positive advice to people, they never post on varied subjects, they just keep churning out the same old, same old.

If they're called out for that they cry bully like a spoilt child.

It isn't a matter of shutting down a debate, it's a matter of not choking all topics with the same debate.

This isn't a political site, there are plenty of those out there, there's room for politics on it but not in every thread.

The level of individual contribution to the site is already diminishing, carry on and there will be half a dozen left talking to themselves.

I agree that a lot of the longer threads often end up off topic, but that happens on other internet forums too. It's nothing special to this one!

After the first few pages the debate on this particular thread was over. We were all just flogging a dead horse...

Martin Walsh's contribution actually took the debate into the realms of real politics and current affairs - talking about Red Lines...

There is nothing happening with our strikes that does not resonate with real issues away from our picket lines; it is up to us all to learn from everything around us and history.

* Someone talking down on another as being pseudo-intellectual is actually trying to claim intellectual superiority...

* So the resolution to the dispute might or might not involve ACAS but that depends on Red lines; what are those Red Lines and are they strong lines or not?

* The Rolling strikes have been published whereas they have not all been notified.

Both Royal Mail and the CWU met today with facilitated talks at Acas.

One of the most important decisions is surely that we must still have a FINISH TIME. We cannot be out all hours delivering mail, especially in the dark.

I really hope the union have realised this because this job is massively unworkable if we don’t have a finish time.

The sheer scale of the abuse and bullying would be absolutely insane and no amount of pay rise would be enough.

Just a thought but has anybody given any thought about our female colleagues travelling home alone later at night .

Not really any different to when they travelled alone when we had 5am starts, just as dark and more likely to be a lot more people around in the evenings than at silly o'clock in the morning.

Its more of an issue of female members of staff delivering to some of the more unsavoury estates on our patch in the dark thats more worrying.
