Mucker,
Print some of these off. Hand them out to the yokels and remind them that the CWU supports the Labour party who have put taxes on their cider.
'It's Time to tell the Truth for a Change'

7 REASONS TO VOTE NO TO THIS PREPOSTEROUS AGREEMENT
1.725% a year pay rise.
Goalposts moved on Colleague share dividends making them payable when revision targets are met instead of when Group profit targets are reached.
Unspecified changes to the IR framework to be made this Autumn.
Union officials obliged to help management implement whatever changes they want to make.
World Class Mail team working ensures that management can always argue that staff consultation has taken place.
Everyone must work as fast as the top 10 per cent.
Delivery staff to work harder, finish later on Saturdays and take a pay cut.

The NO vote is a shoe in - this is what lovejoy posted earlier, when I replied he misconstrued the tenure of the posting - I'm sure he meant a yes vote but we've definitely got them rattled.
For me the sooner the better although despite what some posters in here think the local reps briefings have been a major success not just from the point of HQ pushing a no vote but also from the unit reps who have been able to question, criticise and debate with the unions senior officials!
As for the success of the circus - had the deal been any good it wouldn't have needed the snake oil. It would have been cheaper to send a letter to each member saying - VOTE YES - THERE'S NO PLAN B - mind in truth there was no plan A either.

Since you are not a representative and have no experience outside your own office thats a bold statement to make.dvbuk55 wrote:The NO vote is a shoe in - this is what lovejoy posted earlier, when I replied he misconstrued the tenure of the posting - I'm sure he meant a yes vote but we've definitely got them rattled.

We shall see but I fear that on 23rd you will be severely disapointed as the majority of CWU members will see that when ALL factors are considered this is a good deal.

I think you have missed the emphasis of dvb's post Lovejoy.
Anyway
Well is it still your understanding or have the goalposts been moved?
Anyway

Why are the agreed work standards not part of the agreement?

Not just the goalposts ft, the game has changed. The snipers are in the Ivory tower, it's a round field and these are Rugby posts.fishtank wrote:I think you have missed the emphasis of dvb's post Lovejoy.![]()

Still the underdogs often pull off a surprise - even if it is a yes vote, there's a lot of hard bargaining to be done by unit Reps and ACAS - everyone else from the CWU is superfluous under the new regime.

Reading lovejoy's post's across this forum,it is clear to me he is so far removed from the shop floor,it's hard to belive.to me he is really good at blowing his own trumpet and champion the deal.but dosent seem to listen to what the membership are saying

Re: What is your Branch Recommending?List.
He does appear to be getting more arrogant and less understanding with members who offer a different opinion to his own.
As to why, well we can only speculate.
