How can anyone vote yes to this deal.Doing at least 3 d2d for £8 a wk?????

The crafty thing reading the agreement is you wont. You will be doing them for free the £8 is a result of a new allowance called delivery supplement (this is so that they can pay it to drivers, indoor staff etc) and loosing D2D payments and shift allowance.

As they say the devil is in the detail.

I get £12 early shift the now plus d2d.I was deducting the 12 from the 20.Its bollocks whatever the wording.

read the detail of the 2007 pay and modernisation agreement.... it states that the early shift allowance will cease on the implementation of pay restructuring - which is what this is, robbing peter to pay paul, but it's there in black and white i'm afraid, and the membership voted it in.

all conference does is to produce a wish list, the membership of the cwu voted the 2007 pay and modernisation in, and doing away with the allowance was part of it. Don't forget that conference motion to have SA paid at double time!!

all those saying this is a great deal for mail center workers might want to think about the huge job losses that will come from the mail center closures because of this deal

a £400 lump sum might not go very far once you haven't got a job!

seriously all RM workers need to stick together on this and vote NO!

no compulsory redunancies is part of the deal - another reason to vote YES

Look at moving your MC 15 miles down the road! Would you drive 15 miles to work every day. 30 miles round trip, and the cost involved or would you have to take VR, yes no compulsory redundancies, but not very workable. Granted you get a "sweetner" to move........... Didn't that happen:Reading/Oxford moved to Swindon?

Reading Mail Centre has had its head on the chopping block since last September when Royal Mail announced its plans to close centres in Reading and Oxford and move their services to Swindon as part of a £20 million modernisation process.

i couldn't agree more.

With the amount of D2D's on my delivery I'll lose £12 a week on the supplement figure add in the early shift allowance loss I am looking at around 20% pay cut!! with a highly likely scenario of losing more than that due to taking 5 D2D's a week so the 'bonus' cash is eaten into very quickly too, will vote no but plenty who take less than the supplement in D2D'S payments will vote in along with the staff not affected with the increasing workload in the bag.

No public support either we will look greedy turning down the supposed fantastic deal when announcments yesterday were no public sector pay rises, thinking I may recoup some of my lost cash on withdrawing from the Union seemingly they are not fighting for me.

I was prepared and expected massive change but i did not and will not accept it at a financial lose.

I'm afraid our hq has just shown how out of touch they are with the membership!! time to burn the ivory towers down!!

i couldnt agree more pall they have been on full time release to long and no longer know what the job of a postman/woman is about .why should they bother about d2d payments??they wont have to deliver them 6 days a week 52 weeks a year,for about £8 a week .

All points are worth considering and maybe you have read something we did not. We are ALL in this together, so enlighten me.

if you work in a mail centre, you get a £400 lump sum, a 2% pay rise, an £8 a week supplement, and an additional £75 when this comes in - not to mention the ability to keep your full time hours, the prospect of a shorter working week, another weeks paternity leave, and bonuses from colleagueshare money that your union rep has been telling you all along were worthless........hmmmmmm?[/quote

It is common knowledge that the CWU has done a deal to reduce mail centres by 50% within the next 3 years !

Delivery staff will be doing more work for less money
The only winners are indoor mail centre staff untill the cuts start coming and you will be forced out with terrible new evr packages.
