Customers have already left because they let them go, they didn't plan for the competition and are blaming it on us now.

A huge amount of money? £800. Sorry mate I'd rather have my shift allowance (£600 a year) and my DTD (£1500-ish)

From what he's saying about not negotiating with the union; do they WANT a strike? So they can let the business slide even further down?

Hooray, they're going to invest in the business? Now? Why not during SDD?

A whole new set of challenges? Yes, get your marketing department working harder :P

All those other companies who've been through change? We're a mail distributor, not a builder's yard! (hmmm..sometimes....)
exactly how can they compare us to the 'industry' of delivery services when not
one of them has to deliver to every single address in the country 6 days a week

its just complete rubbish, they stole from our pensions, they're blaming us, they
are happy for us to go on strike so they can blame us, Id like to see either of these
spineless men go out and do a walk and then they can see for themselves if we are
underpaid and overworked...

When we were shown Crozier's effort, IMHO, he didn't beleive what he was sying himself. We argued the toss at Work Time Laugh In with our manager, who, had to leave. :nana

just listned to craziers video again (i know it was torture)
when he mentioned VR however he did say those who 'HAVE TO LEAVE' there will be vr but surely if they have to go then it's not 'voluntary' and as such is just redundancy so as i see it if you make someone redundant then that job has to go and cannot simply be broken up and redistributed amongst others to absorb that work not quite sure of the exact laws surrounding it but am pretty sure you cannot make someone redundant and keep that job there ?

the words have to leave imply that it's not quite voluntary to me , although it might be a mutual agreement sure the rulling in law would be one of plain redundancy
i belive that a redundancy on these terms should attract a higher level of 'compensation' to those that 'go'

Whilst they may not have the perspective people in the field have, it's also fair to say that people in the field may not have the perspective they do. The business is certainly not rolling in cash and revenues are dropping : personally I think PostComm should be strung up, disbanded and destroyed. Going to Open Competition was the worst decision they ever made, and has done nothing but hurt everyone in the industry.
Try one week at any delivery office and then let me know just how overstaffed and by implication underworked we are. It might give you some perspective, people don't get this angry without cause.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
