They are. We regularly get the odd minute or 10 docked off our overtime when we get our payslips, if you have had a minute or two too long on your break.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Oct 2021, 11:47Chances are that RM will be actively monitoring all PDA actuals data, for any times when the PDA is stationary

Re: Clock IN & OUT
Exactly this. If you agree to 2 hrs in the morning, that's what you should do BEFORE you touch your own frame. You should be directed by whoever is ' in charge' to prep other walks or wash vans or anything else thats in the parameters of your job description.Dorset Plodder wrote: ↑09 Oct 2021, 11:40I agree that if someone is asked to come in early and do 2 hours Early IPS that's an Agreement with the DOM.![]()
They should come in and do that 2 hours IPS.![]()
What happens if there's only 45 mins work? We all know what happens .... they then prep their own duty and when that 2 hours expires they're an Hour 15 ahead with their own prep (often All prepped and just doing the Redirections)
They get out of the door an Hour 15 early ... which winds up their colleagues who are still walking back to their frame with all their packets.![]()
Once they're out on Delivery they manage to make up say 45 minutes. They've now made up 2 hours. They take the POV that they're "Allowed" to finish early 40 mins early because they haven't taken any Meal Relief. This hasn't been challenged by the DOM who allows them to do it. When they return to the DO, and book out, they've still got 40 mins on the clock (but that's their untaken MR). From their colleagues perspective they've finished 40 mins Early. They then walk into the DOMs office and book 2 hours OT!

And people wonder why there's a Bad atmosphere in some DOs.![]()

Trouble is you wont ever see a manager come in 2 hours early to manage and oversee the overtime.rambo1 wrote: ↑10 Oct 2021, 19:14Exactly this. If they make that amount of time too often then higher up will see it as a walk that can either have a load added to it or be permanently lapsedrambo1 wrote: ↑10 Oct 2021, 19:14Exactly this. Re: Clock IN & OUT
Unfortunately they don't SP. Because they're only really "Making" 40 mins off their own Duty Time ... Which is their Meal Relief . As a previous comment noted Where they're making is the time they spend NOT doing Early IPS but preparing their own duty. As also mentioned it's a Management problem because they should be given suffient Early IPS/Double Prep to keep them occupied for those paid 2 hours OT.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑11 Oct 2021, 19:46If they make that amount of time too often then higher up will see it as a walk that can either have a load added to it or be permanently lapsed
As a lot of Delivery staff can confirm this goes on for years, with the "Usual Suspects" taking the piss. It never really being gripped by the DOM (usually because he's not in the DO first thing).

Re: Clock IN & OUT
Q1: "Please can I ask a question regarding the “scan in - scan out” system?
Why is the time not displayed on the Home Screen when you select start or end of duty? It only shows the time of scan after you have clocked in or out? Thanks"
Q2: "Asked the same question at installation time.
Apparently nobody had asked the question before.
Why would a clock in and clock out system not display the time to ensure people scanned out on time."
A : Commercial Property & Central Programme dude "Great suggestion ******* ********* and ******* ****** we will put this suggestion on the work stack for the the next software release."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
