Well on a lighter note I have just this very day received my "Accept the Deal" from the CWU signed by D Ward and W Hayes. Highlighting, much in the same vein as Lovejoy did, how successful they have been in negotiating. It is a single page, two sides, no detail and an appeal for ratification. In fact (rat )ification sums it up. No ballot paper of course - they realise how close a vote this is going to be.
I was going to accept the deal and on day 1 said I would. My theory was the membership would then get on with the business of removing these clowns from office. Of course that isn't going to happen is it? So I have changed my mind - I am going to vote NO. If the first agreement was an embarrassment then having these two clowns go back to the negotiating table and be humiliated for a second time will have to suffice as meet justice.
As the bible says, the meek shall inherit RMs agreement.

cant we take a vote of no confidence and get these 2 removed before we get our ballot papers, surely if it goes to a no vote,we need toget union leaders to go in with bigger bollocks and not such a willingness to take it up the arse then if we left the negotiations to these 2 clowns again..
they have proved that they are incapable of putting up any kindof fight when it comes to negotiating on our behalf..lets get these 2 out before the ballot and bring in someone who could possibly at least try to get a better deal then the s**t we have been offered now.

What scares me about the Union letter is that its full of "if", "subject to", "our intention", "opportunity", "influencing" and "separate national and local agreements" there is nothing of substance in it its all very wishy washy and hairy fairy for my liking.
The agreement should be have the following statements included "this is happening", "this is not happening", "in future this will be" not what we actually have.

theyre basically saying that once royal mail start f***ing us over, then the union will TRY to negotiate..i expect as far as royal mail are concerned everything they wanted to bring in from the off they will..and our union will try to stop them..just like the later starts.etc etc.

[quote="linkinpark"]You can go through the single letters and full stops of this "DEAL" if you want but it was is and always has been a SELL OUT OF YOUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS if you vote yes it will cost you thousands of pounds in cash and tens of thousands on YOUR PENSION because RM will make the changes they want if you like it or not. (The pay rise does not even cover the loss of your early start allowance.) So RM have won on that alone! Vote yes and dont moan because you have to cover a "teams work" or pick up the slack in summer for mates that are on holiday instead of getting overtime for doing the same work that you used to get! WAKE UP REALISE THAT OUR LEADERS HAVE TRIED TO SELL US OUT AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. VOTE NO
I dont like the deal, but it has nothing to do with pensions and you dont lose your early shift allowance.
So read the agreement again.

If you think this is nothing to do with Pensions you are sadly kidding yourself.

To quote the letter from the CWU I received today, it says 'Saturday start times and overall length of Saturday attendances will be unchanged'. Doesn't this contradict the earlier statement that 'the normal work pattern may be rebalanced across the week to reflect the traffic profile'? Is Saturday therefore excluded from this?
Overall this is really a bad deal. Effectively all that has changed is that, whereas before, they were claiming that they were going to bring in these changes come what may. Now, we have some wishy-washy agreement from the union that the changes will be 'trialled' before they are implemented, when we all know in practice that this means they will be forced through whether they work or not. Plus some ambiguous stuff about both parties working together. If recent history tells us anything, it's that you can expect a total lack of goodwill from RM management. And who in their right mind thinks it's a good idea to allow agreements to be agreed locally? If anything this will give the union less leverage, not more. They must be totally deluded if they think this is a step forward.

What about new starters.
They can't take your "Grandfather Rights" just because of a re-sign. It's only if you request a change of Duty that they could do that. But what about the future?linkinpark wrote:chiefclaret wrote:Have to disagree with you, RM lied about pensions last year they told us all "They were safe" and unless i have missed something YOU HAVE ALREADY LOST YOUR EARLY SHIFT ALLOWANCE you may? get it for awhile but when you re-sign you will lose it! RM always wanted to devide pay from everything else and Hayes and ward have allowed that. REMEMBER WHEN WE TOOK THE VOTE IT WAS ABOUT A PAY RISE AND THE REMOVAL OF ALL STRINGS. Not a pay cut and more strings. If your happy with YOUR job getting harder, working later, and having RM tell you when you can and cant work vote yes if not VOTE NO.

I know that they are still getting rid of people, but sooner or later, they will want new starters. Am I the only one who is worried about them?
It's a lot harder to get things back once they have been removed, than to protect them in the first place.

Re: What about new starters.
No, you're not mate. I'm not voting for anything which craps on those who come after us. What the hell is up with people in this country today? There used to be a time when working people fought for their own conditions, but had an eye on the future. That's the reason we had a welfare state as set out in the Beveridge Plan, and put in place by Labour in the immediate post-war era. Ordinary people fought for it because they wanted a better like for generations which came after them. This 'I'm alright Jack' attitude is a product of Thatcherism, and should be done away with. Vote NO! Look after yourself and look after those who come after you. "If you tolerate this, then your children will be next!" You owe it to them to vote NO!andy2007 wrote:linkinpark wrote:They can't take your "Grandfather Rights" just because of a re-sign. It's only if you request a change of Duty that they could do that. How can your job get harder, ????????????? the hours you do weekly, you are supposed to work, anything over your hours is overtime. I work my hours every day and have always done the job as im supposed to. Maybe you are used to finishing early every day and its because of people like you that royal mail have come knocking for those hours you make, comprende!!!!!!!linkinpark wrote:chiefclaret wrote:Have to disagree with you, RM lied about pensions last year they told us all "They were safe" and unless i have missed something YOU HAVE ALREADY LOST YOUR EARLY SHIFT ALLOWANCE you may? get it for awhile but when you re-sign you will lose it! There are procedures to follow mate and if your being bullied or harrassed just follow them procedures. See your local rep and exlain to him if you feel you are being victimised.
