What happens if your office doesn't like your DOMs interpretation of D2D into workload?
What interpretation would there be?

You prep 16% end off.

Custom and practice is 20% a day for 5 days,it would now be 16% for 6 days. Why would it kick off between the office and the DOM?

No offence Postman but our office is a little more complex than yours.
We have part-timers who work 20hrs,22.5hrs,25hrs,27.5hrs and 30hrs as well as sat only staff.
Exactly who preps what and how long they get to do it will be a nightmare to work out.
We even have a couple who deliver only and don't come near the office.

And then there is the call rate effect.........

The non sequenced mail revision will mean deliveries will be re planned to accomdate DTD and a host of other stuff

In the meantime if you havent time to do anymore DTD, then the DOM should talk to the rep about how to manage the extra work.

Just prep your del and your 16% of 3 , 4 or 5 lots of DTD and once you do that assess if you have time to complete, if you havent then notify management.

Daz we have around 90 deliveries in our D.O.
As you can imagine things can get a little hectic at times.
All managers are not quite as reasonable as yours
What we do not want to happen is to give management any more opportunity to bully and harrass our members into completing even more unrealistic workloads.
Remind me exactly why we were on strike last year. :d'oh!

Just a question, what would happen if you went over your time on duty, but you said the only way you would do overtime to complete the duty is,if you let me leave the d2ds?
We only get paid to do them in our hours not on overtime. Is that right?

It is my understanding that we should be paid overtime for extending on delivery that includes 16.66% of d2d as per agreed delivery spec(if 16.66% a day will be agreed spec) as it is part of workload. But that I suspect won't stop some doms from trying it on and refusing to pay overtime or intimidate by other measures to stop people claiming docket.

Some important questions to be answered are.

When streaming mail where does D2D stand? 1st...2nd...MS?
If you are off on monday and your D2D hasn't been touched what then?.....same with a bank holiday week?
If D2D arrives late say on a thurs what then?
If you get 3 on a monday and another arrives on tuesday will you just prep 4 into tuesdays sector or also 1 into mondays?
The list is not exhaustive and if we do not get definitive answers then DOMs will just make it up.

I have heard that same kind of statement so many times from the same sources, "stick together","be strong", "get off your knees" until it wears a little bit thin. If you are in an area where 99% of staff are full time, where 99% are union members, where the CWU HQ is on your doorstep then talk is cheap. If you are in an office with 40% part timers, with a third of staff not in the union, when advice is requested and not forthcoming the world is a different place.

By the way postman have you been paid for the election material yet? :hmmmm

Dude, you have a finish time, you don't need to worry about how long it takes you to prep d2d items, if this impacts on your delivery then you have 2 choices, 1. You can cut off at your finishing time or 2. You work overtime to complete your duty, the choice is yours.

RM won't do anything to implement a d2d increase because they are playing the "declining mail" card and that d2d will make up the shortfall which "we" in delivery know that its bollocks, so stop doing the managers job for them and work your hours and then go home.

My office has a cut off culture and its driving the managers stupid, they can't handle it and they can't stop it so the more that do it the better the workload
CUT OFF!!!

Oh come on guys.

I've been paid for the election stuff, always have done.
I don't get bullied at work, neither do any of my colleagues, regardless of whether they are union members or not.Whether they are part timers or not,and yes we have them although not as many as you lot.

Yes my office has had kack, but we stick together,it aint hard!

If anyone on here wants to stand by and see colleagues next to them being bullied then you have to look at yourselves very carefully.

Like me and Daz said, prep the s**t,it takes as long as it takes, and let them(management) sort it out.

Yes you have,i have but a lot of members haven't so the question is do we "stick together" on this or do we leave them to rot because they are not in our office.

And the difference when those colleagues are not standing next to you but are in a different so called "weak" office is.......?

I would imagine we will find out next week just how long it takes to prep the s**t.

No its a Management tool usually applied by one as well

Don't forget once you reach a certain level bullying no longer exists. It has different names, once you reach that level, for instance - operational requirements, active counselling, productivity issues and many more
