Why should we be entitled to a wage rise when most have theirs frozen or reduced and sorry TBT I DON'T say people should not complain but on this one I stand firm and if it goes against others viewpoints then so be it. Or am I not entitled to have a viewpoint other than that expressed by rank and file (whatever that is these days).

So RM have just followed the lead of most other businesses, freeze the pay of the workforce while executives continue the golden lifestyles. Is it any bit of wonder some of us a pissed with it and then to find out from the media probaly as they have not the stomach to tell us through the proper channels.

What gets me is of all my collegues who were complaining about this half of them then left the office with no break and in their cars.

In 2007 NT was close to retirement so I can't understand why he is still working anyone I know has jumped ship to live off their retirement payments.

What comes across here is someone who has worked hard all his life and is getting out at the right time. But unfortunately the tone of your postings is very aggravating to read.I can t stand people who gloat. Its like someone who has won the lottery then advising people how to save their money. I don t care if we get a poxy pay rise to be honest, but I will NOT have a revision aggressively implemented by managers that will receive bonuses if this is done. It is pure hypocrisy that has been passed down from politicians who claim ridiculous expenses, to NHS chief executives bankrupting hospitals while sacking and laying off nurses and part time medical secretaries then employing PA's at 40K a time. And finally RM managers who could not manage a piss up in a brewery implementing stuff they know wont work (look at last year, It was a total mess)but getting bonuses and more money while leaving the workforce shafted and knackered. We deliver post, pure and simple and to make this so complicated is beyond me. Give me my wage, my walk or driving duty and let me get on with it. :mfo

that's how the CWU should play it , attack these people , Jeannie Drake of CWU telecoms went for the jugular and won the propaganda war and got rid of one BT Director . More than one way of skinning a cat .

The big picture is Europe , dodgy TNT way , Senior Managers on the lookout for the main chance , might be looking for a punch up with the CWU ?
Also a lot of papers don't like Crozier as he worked for the Torygraph before he nearly got sacked for fiddling sales figures and learnt a humbling lesson

It's protecting future postman also.

It's also about protecting small businesses that reply on royal mail from an inferior service that can cripple them.

Not once have I winged about the pay freeze (not happy about it but had as up to now not mentioned that).

I have correctly stated that Royal Mail mentioned this to the media before its staff. Utterly deplorable in my opinion.

I stand by much of what I say. I have another ten years to go before I retire (have a private pension) but what use is there in banging your head against the wall for a job that so many seem to feel isn't worth doing anymore. There are no end of other unskilled jobs around that have better hours than RM. Theres NOTHING to stop anyone making a go of their lives and doing something else instead of whinging about what they can do to make life harder for RM. If I was a younger man I'd definately be looking for another job but its not worth it at my time of life and I'm still fit enough to keep up with the young uns.

Mind you, we could always start our own union I suppose.....
