If it involves an office being clear at the end of shift/day every day then no office MC or DO will have a hope in hell of getting the money. In MCs during Xmas Pressure, what one shift can't do gets rolled over to the next shift

Based on the truly abysmal service I've seen in my office for the last 18 months there's no way any bonus payments are coming our way. What this may do is get some extra effort out of those that are still engaged or need the money but in reality it's wasted effort. So RM will get extra work out of people for nothing. The walks are impossible in the summer so once volume goes up how the f**k will they then be possible.

That is the only shock tbh that they haven't got rid of the existing xmas bonus, sure that will come though

Struggling to get people to do Sunday packets now so drafting in new contract people most sundays ,only a matter of time before they get pissed off and leave,im quite looking forward to the s**t show this xmas its going to bring a big smile to my face after all the s**t we have been put through this year.

Why can't causals deliver parcels at Xmas? Dont see any at my office.

Probably because "the last mile" ie Delivery, is how RM are "losing" money

All the CEO, Board, senior Managers want is more profit.

Delivery is the loser in that chain unfortunately.

The funniest thing is without deliveries this company is nothing. Just packets and letters sat there. Unless they can get 70 million people to come and get it all.

Without any part of the operation the company is nothing. Everyone is just as important in moving the mail along the way.

Absolutely but we are talking about the disdain senior management seem to have for deliveries when the final mile is pretty much the culmination of the process which without there is no product to sell.

The final mile is linked to the Universal service. Deliveries are linked to the Universal service. Why does Royal Mail want to have one parcel network?

This is my main concern around the bonus payment.
We have to see the finer details of the scheme before we can all properly judge, some people on here are jumping the gun a little.
My fear is those offices which are chronically understaffed with unachievable rounds will miss out on the bonus through no fault of their own.
Nothing says yet that local managers will not put the required hours in on top of the bonus to give offices the best chance of completing.
The company is at a crossroads and needs Christmas to succeed to keep these contracts long term and show potential future customers we are still the most trusted firm.
If anything this gives us opportunity to really earn well this Christmas if the desire is there.
The USO will maybe be reassessed next year which will improve the company financially.
Right now it is about delivering Christmas at all costs basically.
So make hay while the sunshine's I feel.
I understand the anger and loss of interest in many offices and don't wholly blame them.
But ultimately if the bonus was on the table or off the table it wouldn't change the amount of work that is going to come through the door so this union bashing session slightly baffles me.
They are damned if they do damned if the don't.
No staff should be put under pressure to work extra if they have no desire to though. Hopefully this doesn't lead to bullying in DOs.
Let's see the final details next week.
