Its about protecting freebies.
If you get a freebie you will still get it.
If you don't get a freebie you won't, but the guy that gets one does ...still.
TPM isn't a freebie....we get it for doing certain maintenance and repairs we're trained to do on the machines, that otherwise would have to be done by much higher-paid engineers.
I understand that this doesn't affect people on delivery....likewise there's many issues on delivery that don't affect us in MCs.....but if they come for one of us, they take on all of us.
We all stand together, we all fight for each other, whatever our job.

3 or 4 rolling strikes ffs what planet or you on why were rolling strikes cancelled last time..
I didn't mean do 3 or 4 day strikes on a weekly basis. That would be nuts. If the union are planning 2 day's a week. Might be better to compress it to strike fortnightly for 4 day's. We would be losing the same money just causes more backlog for Rm.
Might have to wait until the next financial update(April) before we can apply max pressure again. We saw how Rm played the union on the last financial update. Share price could tank if the union threatens a rolling strike on that date.
If no improvement in R.M pay including back pay to April and a return to terms and conditions then an indefinite strike is more or less the last option?

Don't know if there's any MPUs left (any DO with one or more CSS machines located in it) but anyone in an MPU whose duty is CSS will also get TPM
Wishful thinking. The strikes before Christmas didn’t twist royal mails arms and any strikes in march or April won’t either.
They are talking because they want a deal. But it’ll be a deal on mostly their terms. The tiny inches they have budged so far show their intention.
I think we all know what their intentions are.
Making us all work harder for less money.
What should we do, bend over and take it for the team?
What would you suggest?
Iv said for ages I think the original strategy was wrong. Basically urinating in the wind.
I’m not sure what is left to do now but if the union keep screaming that a great victory is close they will look foolish. Any changes that Royal Mail make now will be changes that don’t really bother anyone, bar a handful of Sunday workers or southerners.
The big changes, as we are seeing now, will just be forced through.

According to the allowances document - supplied by Postman &RMTV) ... The TPm, Sunday Premium and RRIS are all open allowances whereas the others are closed.
So if the union agree a deal do we vote on that deal or does a reballot result count as the vote
Reballot is just that and has widened as one ballot this will strengthen the unions hand it is VERY IMPORTANT WE VOTE YES IN THIS BALLOT. As to a vote on this future agreement that has not been envisioned yet it will require a vote on it and all the terms and conditions that go with it!
I disagree. The upcoming ballot is effectively on acceptance of RM's "best and final" offer as it stands at the time that ballot papers are issued.
If we vote against industrial action then the union are left with no leverage to continue negotiations. The idea that we could vote against industrial action but then vote against the offer on the table is a nonsense. The union would either have to accept the offer on the table or else it (or something worse) would simply be imposed. There would be no more negotiations as there would be nothing to bring RM to the table.
We would also have to accept whatever Thompson wants to do to us for the next few years as the membership would have indicated to RM that they have absolutely no stomach for a fight.

Had to laugh as I read through this as one of those pesky ads popped up to adopt a donkey…..
Made me think which side is making an ass of this fiasco …
That's what these talks are for - to see if RM are amenable to more changes - if not, we members go to ballot again.
RM would be stupid to offer anything until they see the result of the ballot - so, if you want a decent pay rise, if you DON'T want annualised hours and work 'til finish, THEN vote YES on the new ballot - by doing so you are figuratively twisting RM's arm higher up their back
That's true, it would be unwise for them to play their cards so early in the talks but what happens if there is no revised offer on another strong yes vote, would that be a sign of them not being bothered about further strikes?
We'd have to see, this is evolving. Neither the R>M nor the CWU can be sure how a new ballot will be supported. That is why they are talking now I believe - to try and get a feel for each other's negotiating stances which change as time passes.
If there really were to be no improved offer after another strong yes vote then that could be a bluff by R.M. They could wait to see how the first 2 days of strikes go regards turnout if there was only 60% turnout then that would tell them one thing but if there would be a 90% turnout that wold indicate that they really need to rethink their position.
That's why it is important to a/ get a high ballot turnout and high % yes vote and b/ that any I.A is very well supported - it really is a game of attrition and there is no gain without pain in that scenario.
