I would be amazed if 24/25 is called off regardless of the outcome. No way a negotiators settlement can be ratified by the PEC and put to a members vote in a week.

If the negotiators believe they have an acceptable settlement the strikes will be called off.

No way on earth this time. I’ve never known feeling as strong in RM. It will have to go to the membership.

That's not how this s**t works or ever has.

I know that. But if it’s appalling (which is the predicted consensus) it needs to be properly agreed with the membership that we drop the strikes. We were prepared to do a consultative ballot 2 weeks since so that is the road we should go down.

I can't see us striking, and I can't see an agreement.

It'll be "we're making progress, more to do, so we'll cancel the strikes while talks continue".

Probably all the way to New Year, at which point RM will walk away and introduce everything without agreement.

No. I agree but we have been down this road before. The only leverage we have is Black Friday/xmas. I don’t believe anything RM say or do anymore, the EA is proof they can’t be trusted.

I stress this is just a rumour but the word going around my MC is that talks are going badly . If that’s true then prepare yourself for more industrial action next week

They can’t be going that badly or they wouldn’t still be talking.

What about if RM have been advised by lawyers that it’ll be handy going forward if they can say they exhausted talks before going to war..

Yes and you would have thought, the planned rolling strike action would have been thoroughly thought out, and not able to be cancelled by RM sending them a letter.

The union is good at disappearing and going quiet when there's "talks", but how about showing the same sort of steadfastness when it comes to other matters.

I think so far RM have got off lightly with all of the strikes, and it's been barely perceptible by the public. Given what's at stake in this dispute I believe a far firmer approach is needed.

The notice for 30th and 1st hasn't been served yet. Due today. That list is the generic update not the legal requirement.

We expect an update from the CWU leadership later today. Scheduled talks finished yesterday as per the joint statement issued last week.

The Postal Executive Committee are meeting today to consider a report from the negotiating team.

RMG are making their own announcements to markets.
