We know you want us to get a pay deal done quickly. We do too.
We’ll keep you updated as much as we can during the process.
Thank you,
Ricky McAulay
Operations Development Director
Yes pRicky, so quickly that you told Terry to eff off nearly two months ago. That bollocks sums up the rest of your statement,
I am just surprised (no, actually I am not surprised at all) that Terry didn't see this coming a long time ago. The CWU seem to have been blinded by the CEO coming across as a good bloke and not Rico. I posted in January that I could see Sundays coming into any "deal" and around 3-5% on pay, so I'm not that surprised by the rest of it.

Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.
Why an all out strike? We are playing into their hands, they won't have to pay any wages, why can't we work to rule with an overtime ban? That way they will still have to pay us our basic wage but it won't be long before the place is in chaos
Wall of text, but still didn't find the space to describe even one of the pay related "changes we are seeking". It's funny how these communications always seem to omit trivial details like attacks on terms and conditions.
RM can do one off a cliff
No surprise at all what they are offering...pathetic,predictable and a 'screw you' to the workforce
CWU have to step up now...make it clear that we strike and no screw ups to let RM off the hook
RM pay up or p*ss off
No way will the union go on strike, it's a right load of bollocks, it's in the 2010 agreement NOT to strike, why do you think the last two have been booted out of court and it's nothing to do with people photographing ballot paper etc etc, cwu lawyers are s**t. i can almost hear dodgy Ricky and Simple Simon laughing already at the tubthumpers at conference giving it the big one.
We've not had a national stike since 2008 and it ain't going to happen again no way, I think Woody had it right in his excellent post.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.
They will drive this company into the ground. A recession is dangerously lightly. Trying to run the business on a thread will just not work. If these T&Cs actually came through they would rapidly lose their workforce, and in turn ruin their brand image.
Royal Mail is limbo. Now can't deliver letters well, and doesn't offer a premium or budget service.
Share holders won't be seeing many returns when this all goes to pot.
A small no strings attached payrise is their best option i believe. If they focussed on employee care they could easily cover Sundays and late starts.
Supermarkets may work shifts, but they don't work outside and walk 10miles a day.
If the offer was a straightforward 3.5% pay increase it wouldn't actually be that bad even though current UK inflation is around 7%
Any news headlines that show postal workers potentially striking for a 3.5% pay increase whilst Nurses and the Police have only accepted 2% will have the general public thinking that we are all greedy.
But Royal Mail are coy. Its the strings that has the potential to kill off any "deal" and just like previous negotiations most of them are not worth the paper they are written on
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
Although I’m not a CWU grade all the organisation’s you mentioned are state owned and didn’t give 400m to shareholders back in January
It is also higher than many other organisations. For example, Post Office have proposed a pay freeze for one year and 2% for the second year, An Post workers in Ireland have a 2.5% rise, and other key workers such as Nurses, Teachers and Police will get pay rises of 2-3%.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
Who is going to want to work for RM on these conditions?
Better jobs out there on the same money where they actually treat you like a human being.
RM can’t recruit enough staff and retain them as it is
