I'm sure that will be part of the managers briefing that they convey tomorrow. Who knows though, it could be used as leverage to get people to agree with going back onto van share.

Will you van share - yes = no problem (for them). No - then you are walking to duty/being given notice of change of hours of attendance.

Personally, I can't imagine if RM want van share back that they will agree to all these different methods of conveyance under the one roof.

People in Single vans
People in van share
People walking to first delivery point and meeting driver
People driving own car to first delivery point and meet driver
People taking public transport ti first delivery point

That is a logistical nightmare.

The desire for it to return has never gone away by the sounds of it. I've been very vocal about it never returning, simply for using RM's logic of things being done in the safest way possible - that clearly can't be the case if van shares return.

Yes but why would you?

People need to stop helping this company take that pound of flesh, you’re supplying the knife.

Your car is not a company asset to complete the job.
You don’t owe them anything.
As much as id like rm to get 50k extra vans its never going to happen so of the 3 options, van share, work till 7pm through december january etc or use your own car to get to delivery point 1, the last option (for me) is the safest.

In the video, Terry PullFinger mentions that Mark Bauch has been in talks with Royal Mail management over quite a few matters including this one, but Mark Bauch is currently away. It seems we need to wait for more updates.

And what's the bet that RM management will use examples of vehicle sharing like, "Well, driving instructors, taxi drivers, police officers, and refuse bin collectors share the same vehicle. Why can't you posties share vans?" I like to see CWU's response to that. :no no

If they make it difficult regarding van share then we will be leaving even more mail in and cutting off.

Management won't need to use those professions as examples, as there are clearly many posties in RM who feel hard done by because they can't copy other workers who van share.
Remember everyone, it was RM who pulled van sharing as it wasn't the safest way to work during a pandemic - why is it safer now?

To give some context, the daily new positive cases below (the jump from 7,981 on October 4th to 12,594 on October 5th would be due to the fiasco over the thousands of missing cases).
