how long till lots of us are let go?

The share price has risen from 269 to 276 since this article so the direction of travel is opposite. Moreover the dividend cover for the last period was comfortable. Profit for the year is pretty much in line with what was forecast. Dividend yield at the current price is about 9%, for a solid company like RMG that is great. If the share price remains stable or decreases the yield will increase further, this will give the RM board the option of cutting the div and still maintaining a very high yield and an attractive investment return, or as is more likely the share price will increase and that yield will decrease.

I don't think this article is independent in its views.

It has been pointed out in the financial press for a long time now that it is not sustainable for RM to continue paying out the percentage of dividends currently paid. They either have to follow the example of the water companies, which involves borrowing vast sums of money to enable paying out dividends, or cut the percentage paid out as dividends. I agree 500 million sounds like a decent profit but apparently it isn't enough or doesn't cover the RM business model.

Can you provide some links to that? (Independent analysis, not some scaremongering rubbish from a broker with a short position)

From what I can see the current divi level is very comfortably covered.
What I have written above is entirely correct and doesn't come from the mouths of those ******** who short large respected companies like the AA & the RM or manipulating characters like George Soros. I don't have the links to hand but respected publications like Money Week etc have and continue to write about these issues. No one needs to be told that capitalism was ever a good system to run a country and it has been falling apart for many years. Even when the RM share price was at a much higher point RM was paying one of the highest dividend rates around. This is despite the case that all posties know the RM is being run really badly by the top bods and is a prime example of excessive director and boss pay based on arguably poor performance, management, and worker relations. RM is one of many if not the majority of companies and institutions where everything is run really badly but bonuses go up and up and the customers are often **** on from a great height.

Ask your DOM if you don't believe me. Most of our regulations including competition law come from EU judgements then are incorporated into UK law. For example we are not meant to hold onto mail for schools on our walks during school holidays and are directed to kill it off. That's if you follow all the rules.......

Schools are supposed to put a keepsafe in if they want their mail held, that applies to anyone who wants their mail held. Nothing to do with the EU

Would that be the same DOM who told you RM no longer own any real estate?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

There is some real estate still owned by RM and some of it is worth a lot of money. But the majority was sold off then immediately leased back. For example our DO has about four years left on the lease. We lease all the vehicle fleet as well. It goes against all business sense but then the people at the top of RM have no idea.

We all know they need to take out a keep safe but I have never known any school to take out a keep safe in over twenty years working for RM. Schools are run effectively by the government. Something to muse on.
Aside from this think what you like and don't pull the blinkers off. Vast swathes of our laws and regulations are currently taken word for word from EU law.

An extreme generalisation and an insulting one at that. Not everyone is a bad apple. For the record I am just a postie and would never take on the DOMs job.

The problem with RM is the sick, I have never worked in a company where so many people go sick, time and time again, and they still keep there jobs. Some in our office have done about 15 years , had about 5 years of sick, I even know people who want to work in RM because they thing RM is such a soft spot for people who want to do as little work as possible.

Perhaps part of the issue is the difficulty in booking annual leave?
