In other words, the aim is to remove ghost hours. I don't know whether this is being driven by our DOMs desire to reduce the OT bill and thus look good in the eyes of the area Manager, or whether it's as a result of direct pressure from above. This is all part of the four Pillows Agreement that was accepted by the members, so its a national drive endorsed by the CWU.
I have been saying this for weeks now, if the whole 'PDA actuals' thing really takes off, two things are going to happen. The 'runners' or 'ghosters' or simply put 'the guys and girls that like to smash their own duties and then smash some overtime and still get home at a reasonable time' are going to have to 1. slow down and do their own job correctly and 2.lose money. However the real losers here are going to be DOMS, as they are going to have a lot less takers for overtime in their already desperately understaffed offices. Interesting times.
