Re: Royal Mail offering VR with pay in lieu
WHY has Willesden not had a revision in ten years? It really just highlights how different the agreements are applied to different areas and it also shows that LONDON is a problem area for efficiency, productivity and how over manned that area is. Obviously the much vaunted protecting full time jobs has come home to roost.dingo wrote:Now yes it is true about Wilsden but it has to be remembered that Wilsden has not had a revision for over a decade. There are 120 vacancies in North West London at the moment despite those VRs.

Streets paved with gold, London weighting, no revisions, they don't know they're born.dvbuk55 wrote:WHY has Willesden not had a revision in ten years? Whoever knew there was two arms to RM and the CWU, they look like closet Tories in attitude one law for Lunnun and another for the sticks a bit like one law for .............well you see the similarity.Lounge Lizard wrote:Streets paved with gold, London weighting, no revisions, they don't know they're born.dvbuk55 wrote:WHY has Willesden not had a revision in ten years? If we were doing the same walks we were 10 years ago we'd be finishing hours early every day. The walk I was doing in 2005 has around 30% more drops on it now!dvbuk55 wrote:WHY has Willesden not had a revision in ten years? Or perhaps it's because RM know it is more difficult to recruit and retain PT staff in London where even FT staff find it difficult because of the higher living costs, particularly housing.dvbuk55 wrote:WHY has Willesden not had a revision in ten years? Yes yes there's always a reason why they cannot be made to adhere to the agreements that are made, the excuses just get tiresome.baldrick wrote:Or perhaps it's because RM know it is more difficult to recruit and retain PT staff in London where even FT staff find it difficult because of the higher living costs, particularly housing.dvbuk55 wrote:WHY has Willesden not had a revision in ten years? Instead of selling off all old sites, RM gets some London sites converted into affordable rental housing for OPGs?

Like McDonalds et al? Like I say the old excuses are tiresome, housing, recruitment anyone would think that RM is the only employer south of Watford.IloveMYredTROLLEY! wrote:Instead of selling off all old sites, RM gets some London sites converted into affordable rental housing for OPGs?

They aren't the only employer, and that's why they can't fill PT vacancies. Any other reason you can think of why there are 120 unfilled vacancies in NW London? Besides your blinkers that is.

Re: Royal Mail offering VR with pay in lieu
Well they seem to be able to manage with 120 short so perhaps they aren't necessary and it's just a question of maintaining the old status quo especially if they haven't had a revision for 10 yearsbaldrick wrote:They aren't the only employer, and that's why they can't fill PT vacancies. Re: Royal Mail offering VR with pay in lieu
in Birmingham ive been offered ever 3 times. thet give me different figures every time, I dont trust them an an inch , I have 36 years service, what will I get? ive been told to take my pension before I take evr?dvbuk55 wrote:Well there you go, so much for how expensive it was going to be. As for the CWU agreeing, exactly what would they do to stop it? I don't know why people think that the CWU hasn't been outplayed and sidelined, RM offer the VR to the employee with enhanced rates and they are going to take it regardless of what the CWU say or do.dingo wrote:Royal Mail have written to the CWU saying that anyone who signs up for VR with a union agreement by the 27th March 2015 will be given pilon ie they will be paid their notice period but will not have to attend work.
The CWU are likeli to reach agreement on this next week. In the main this will apply to where competition has reduced workload and that when an office does an effierency revision there is going to be reduction in either full time duties or duties per say.Oh and it's likely, efficiency and per se and no I don't have a wealth of experience in reading agreements and negotiating
