Well a postie in our office was caught 12 miles off route outside a takeaway with a non RM employee sitting in the van with him, when the DSM questioned him about why he was there, he tried to lye his way out by saying the transport manager, had sent him to the garage, which was untrue. The result a 6 month RM driving ban. He was told if he hadn't tried to lie his way out, punishment would have been a slapped wrist by DOM.

2. I have been taken off driving whilst the issue is investigated. I normally do one SA collection a week which I am contracted in to - should I still be paid for this as, so far as I am concerned, I have done nothing wrong and in any case they haven't even formally charged me with anything yet?

2) Should the fact-finding interview not proceed beyond this or the disciplinary finds that there is no charges to be brought then you will be recompensed for the money lost for not attending your SA contract as this could be regarded as a form of punishment.

Just a question on this: I read somewhere that all suspensions should be given in written form, and since October 2004 should all be with pay. Does this only apply to suspension from duty or will it apply in this case to suspension from driving as well? I have received no written notification that I've been suspended from driving, and haven't been paid for my last two week's SA (contracted).

Update: had my fact finding interview, then had to spend about 20 minutes correcting the notes (made by the DON) before I sent it back. Just playing the waiting game again now, goodness knows how long they can string this out; they haven't even made a charge yet, and it's been three weeks (even more since the alleged offence). Anyone got any idea on the suspension without pay issue (above)?
