in our office at least 20 people have stopped their deductions out of a staff of 62. this would have been unthinkable 5 years ago and every worker would have been in the union.

Thank god for people like Winston Churchill - and I ain't no Tory. But boggie would have been with the appeasers like Neville Chamberlain who wanted to lie down to Hitler and let him roll over us because there was no point in fighting as he was stronger and going to win anyway.

Well, he didn't - do you know why boggie - because this country united behind Churchill and many brave men and women gave their lives to defend this democracy and eventually to free occupied Europe.

But that takes courage and the ability not to always be a Thatcherite and think only of self-gain and self-interest.

And the lesson for us, to be united, to support our union, our colleagues and our customers and not to accept the s**t that is handed down from on high through the serried ranks of ass-licking managers - most of whom should have been sacked years ago for inefficiency, stupidity and doing nothing and because they have no respect from their staff.
Back to DEMOCRACY - that's the thing that protects and enshrines the right of free trade unionists to organise and to defend themselves against rapacious company owners and management. We are just part of the long chain of proud social reformers and trade unionists who have never accepted that their place is in the gutter for all time. That's where the sh***s belong.

The CWU may not be the best union in the world - but you know what? A union is only as good as its members and I'm delighted to hear that boggie's friends in his office are out of the union - this is a testing time for us all and a time when cowards are exposed - no matter what whingeing excuses they make - and trade unionists can stand tall and proud.

Superb post! And very true. I'm glad our parents and grand-parents had more bottle than these scabby bastards crossing picket lines (including the CMA scum). This is the one that spoke of Royal Mail's contingency plans to deliever the mail!!, that worked well from all those mothballed offices didn't it ? . The other one was any slight against non-strikers will result in you sharing a cell with hairy knuckle draggers who'll seranade you to sleep. the union is not against change and you would know that if you listened to both sides of the dispute you blinkered prick, we want change that will benefit all of us who work in this service not just managers and top brass this is not a race to the bottom its a race to save the service.
