was the duty planned specifically for a delivery without trollies?

if so why were you provided with them if it was planned not to use them?

Thats the whole point, if they were planned with trollies it would take over 6 hours, so maybe they weren't? I have been provided with trollies and we have used them, but only on a few rare occasions because most of the loops are just one or two bundles most days.

I cannot see why RM management refuse to acknowledge this when it is in everybody's best interest to do so. Currently I finish at my correct time or thereabouts. If I used a trolley for every loop I'd be claiming. Straightforward enough isn't it?
not really if you used the trolley the way the duty was planned, and the duty was taking longer, then your duty would get looked at re assessed and some of your duty taken off you and that would mean more hours for people who want them or in extreme cases more staff being employed to do the job the way its supposed to be done not by you taking short cuts

2 points then for those wanting to ditch the trolley to save time:

1 what do you say then to the reserve who covers you on annual leave when he wants to do the job properly and finds its going to take him 6 hours because you have been cutting corners and not using the trolley?

2 what do you say to the part timers who want/need extra hours but your stopping them getting extra because your cutting corners?

With 1 or 2 bundles on each loop what is your opinion? I would say no.

Let me ask this, would you take an empty trolly with a 1 bundle loop?

i would use the equipment that had been planned to be used for the duty as it had been planned to be used, you still not answered the question is your duty planned to use a trolly and what would you say to the two points i made above

Taking an empty trolly with you on loops is wasting time and being deliberately inefficient. What corner has been cut? I left a piece of equipment that wasn't required and therefore would hinder delivery.

How is it possible to answer that question because it depends on the duty and the duty holder being able to apply common sense. Ok, my first loop is about 1 and a half bundles half way round is a flight of 20 steps separating the loop. My common sense tells me not to take the trolley with half a bundle in it.

its a simple yes or no question has your duty been planned to be used with a trolley?

Maybe one of the 11 loops was planned, the rest has rough terrain, steps, old person's complex, steep rises or no paths, and trollies cannot be used anywhere where there are no paths, or narrow paths. Since I didn't plan the duty I can only offer my opinion. We have been supplied with trollies though.

so thats a yes then but you have decided not to use it and not to flag up the issues where the trolley cant be used, so basically when your revision was implemented you just decided to make changes to your duty without flagging up issues on your walk where the trolley wasnt suitable, if you had then your duty would have been re assesed

so now because you didnt raise issues with your walk, the reserve is being forced to do a walk that takes substantially longer than its been planned to and the part timers are not getting extra hours that would have came their way when the extra bots were taken off your duty

banner18 wrote:If a duty is split down enough, then trollies are redundant, that is my only point. Is that not the case with a rural delivery, or should they be carrying trollies?
But by splitting it down you're increasing the time spent not actually delivering anything and increasing the running costs.
