have i missed something? is the dispute over? lets get real here. these are the sort of things royal mail want to hear! once the agreement is signed sealed and delivered we can attack the actions of our union. for now we must support the PEOPLE WE ELECTED!

Yes we did elect them and we have to abide by the decisions that are made on our behalf because of that.

We do not however need to heap acclaim on what has turned out to be a farce. It appears we as a union are being lead round by the nose - it IS time to draw a line and say these are OUR terms for continuing the discussion:

We set and continue strikes
We will endorse and defend local action taken against "executive decisions"
There needs to be a new initiative before talks begin
The agenda for the talks will be notified to the membership
Agreed negotiables will be notified to the membership

As it stands at the moment we know the talks have broken down but not on what points there is still disagreement.

On another point - the PEC should have been teding to CWU business NOT TUC - we pay the piper not the TUC.

Good on yer, Nottingham. For me though, it's get rid of the 22 conditions AND give us an honourable, and above all else, fair,
pay rise.

The cost of living in Britain today, plus all the increases we're bound to see in our bills before next April, 2.5% just doesn't cut it.

Plus, who's to say that just so they could get away with giving us below inflation pay increases, they wouldn't add outrageous conditions like the
ones we're trying to stave off, if we just settle for the 22 strings being removed?

Trouble is there are 130,000 different opinions and the PEC have to decide on the best way forward. Tomorrow we'll know more details and then we can make an even handed judgement.

There will be no strikes next week and personally i think that is poor. We should be out on Monday in opposition to the later starts.

Your point on the TUC in normal circumstances would be spot on. I'll forgive them today because I understand they were able to get a meeting with Brown.

Tomorrow the update will come. When it does lets have our say then get behind it. If we don't we'll end up fighting each other whilst thos arrogant bullies ruin OUR industry
