If this deal gets voted in, the CWU are in big, big trouble. There will be a mass exodus of members out of it. If this deal gets in, I will wait and see what, if anything, can be salvaged from the shambolic mess the CWU has landed us with.
But deep down, I know my days as a member of the CWU are numbered, and that's a shame, a crying shame.

Wranglered you have indeed made the cogs in my little brain turn a bit more. The CWU is a business. Just like the banks. Most people think your bank is providing you a service but there sole aim is to make as much cash as possible from you. The CWU is absolutely no different. Yes there is a good rep here and there who does provide a service for the employees. Unfortunately they get little or no thanks whether it be financially or in other ways. However just like the banks the CWU's sole ambition seems to be to make as much cash as possible from you. This agreement has proved that point. I feel sorry for the good reps. They more than anyone must feel well and truly sh*t on.

The whole banking industry fell to the ground when banks and bankers got too greedy and showed they weren't capable of providing the service they were being paid for. Take note Billy Hayes and Dave Ward. You have also shown you are totally and 100% incapable of providing the service you are being paid for. We are all now just waiting for CWU towers to tumble to the ground.

I still can not believe after 18 days lost pay and 4 months of talks the end result is more work and a pay cut. Do the decent thing Billy and Dave. Admit defeat and resign. Walk away with what little dignity and respect you have left. You have not only let Union members and yourselves down but you have let down Unions right across the UK. Your a laughing stock. Unions are about fighting for workers rights and conditions. This agreement has not improved our rights or conditions one single iota. Absolutely none.

Billy Hayes your salary for the 4 months supposed negotiating you done for us cost us a mere £32,549 (thanks to Wikipedia for providing the figure of his annual salary). That 4 months salary is about roughly 1.5 times the annual salary of the men and women you were supposedly fighting for. You should be ashamed of yourself. Utterly ashamed yourself. Your a failure as are all the top Union leaders. Just go. Please just go.

Good post JMO but the difference between banks and a union is the banks are Plcs. They issue shares and their central aim is indeed to raise share price and dividend payout. The CWU don't aim to make profits but your right in saying the HQ are very interested in subsrcription monies because they more they raise the more they can pay themselves andf the more comfortable their offices and indeed houses will be with CWU financed mortgages.

However this deal won't make the subcriptions increase, quite the opposite which is very concerning. The leaders do not recognise how bad this deal is. A bad deal leads to unhappy members leaving in droves and less money for CWU HQ. A good deal would preserve member numbers if not increase them. I honestly don't understand it only to say they are total muppets.

Also the major job losses they are agreeing to will cut their subs by a large ammount so expect the weekly sub payment for the rest of us to be increased to make up for that.

I can be pretty sure that the number of enquiries you are dealing with about the agreement are not praising it.

We the workers are currently dealing with the worse and most pathetic agreement ever to be seen with regards to our future.

I suspect the reason why I didn't receive a reply justifying the agreement is quite simple, it can not be justified in any way, shape or form.

The union is committed to ensuring that they can hopefully keep lining their pockets with the members cash. Does Dave Ward and Billy Hayes realise for one minute how angry the workers are? We are absolutely livid.

HOW CAN YOU JUSTIFY LOSING 18 DAYS PAY FOR STRIKE ACTION FOR THE END RESULT TO BE A PAY CUT AND MORE WORK?

I would appreciate the above to be answered by someone within the CWU who holds a position of authority.

I pay my fees and surely the least I can expect is a reply to the above in block capitals?
