But you still haven't said who lied to you.
And why don't you take statements at face value?

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

These latest posts are not my usual genre but there are important points to be made. I feel that there has been undue attention paid to some whilst the important national issues have been sidetracked. My comments are not solely on this forum and hopefully those in meetings will pay attention to the comments made elsewhere.

For the same reason you don't take my statement at face value - you obviously question it.clashcityrocker wrote:But you still haven't said who lied to you.

Every frame in my office has double slots - most frames are all doubles. No wonder the pictures of frames put on here make them look big if they're all single slots.Ernie Shoe wrote:Wimbledon have double slots.
Been in the job nearly 5 years 90% of our frames have double slots.
Love the option of a 4 day week.
We should have the same opportunities throughout the country.
Localised, fragmented union = CRAP.
Never heard of a 4 day week until I came on this forum.

Re: London starts to make progress
Look the point I was making on two addressess per slot on frames is that it destroys the planning values which Royal Mail use for the indoor workload tool.
If it happens in your office then this should be raised via your rep. In terms of Geo Route well lets face this fact their is not a national agreement on geo route and the national policy on this issue was not to co -orperate. However wrongly in my view CWU HQs decided to run a training course on Peagsus / Geo route so reps could understand it more.
As a result some reps , incuding area and divisonal reps believed they could beat the computer and choose to do deals around the geo route system. A miniority had some succuss , however the majority did not. Plus by agreeing to geo route both in the area and locally it became impossible to achieve a national agreement as Royal Mail didt need one as offices were queing up to use it. There were only 3 offices who requested a ballot over the use of geo route.
Now with regards to 4 days weeks they do exist outside London as well. However in London we choose to use Pay and Mod and the section on Inovative duty structures to bring in 4 days weeks or 9 day fortnights. Remember when an office done this it works out you have to collaspe 1 walk in 5 so producitivity collaspes.

On what grounds, that there should not be double slots or that the indoor work tool cannot be applied because there are double slots?

Im interested as well, there is not a frame at my place that does not have doubles somewhere in them.fishtank wrote:"If it happens in your office then this should be raised via your rep."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: London starts to make progress
Fishtank the planning values for the indoor workload tool were intially constructed when we had two deliveries. Some of the planning values are flawed such as the indoor planning values assume that you dont get any missorts in your mech bundles. The planning assumptions assume that you have one slot per address as well.
Whilst there are lots of frames who have 2 slots per address , the whole point is that Royal Mail have league tables all aspects of work including prep and if you have to handle work twice when the planning values only say you handle it once. All these league tables determine the amount of savings your office is targeted for.
This is why the union has never agreed the indoor workload tool and why we are attempting to agree transparant and realistic standards.

So the indoor workload tool is unagreed, outdated and not fit for purpose and no co-operation should be given to managers trying to apply it.
Is this the official union position?

Re: London starts to make progress
what about when there are for example 7 flats in a house, which for Royal Mail apparently is one delivery point, but for me it means loads of letters and packets and certainly dont fit in one slot. I pointed out to managers 2 years ago but you can imagine...also I gave them lots of new delivery points to be added in to the frame because they were just missing...again I m still waiting ....

Re: London starts to make progress
That has been the policy for some time . In the same way that we should not have agreed geo route revisons. However not everyone keeps to those policies.
The Indoor workload tool is flawed in a number of ways , as it is based on 100 BSi and industiral engineers always say that to achieve 100 BSi you have to have a full head of work and be properly motivated. Not many are that in this industry at the moment.
