So do I and he went the same way Banned and deleted.

He purports to be an ex-marine but I don't know of any ex-service people that are so abusive to another point of view, and I know a lot I am one myself.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought it was referred to as The Royal Marines or the Commandos and not The Marines (which is an American term).

Thought you were on strike........

Post by kwf166 »

God if I got a pound each time someone came up and said "thought you were on strike" no we posties are on strike tomorrow  don't people ever listen to the news, mind you I suppose you can't blame them for being confused, as the headlines just say, start of a Postal strike for 48 hours, I explained it was the mail centers and distribution drivers for 24 hours and postal strike start tomorrow for 24 hours and all they said was oh and how long will you be out for :confused

My delivery took over 5hrs today
I took the time(for the 2nd day) to explain to each and every one of my customers why we were striking.
The public are onside.
You are only as good as the last letter you delivered

As i said earlier in my post mate I did,my customers do understand, but it the media I am getting at, they are the ones making it worst for us, turning the public against us, but unfortunately we haven't got all day to be explaining to every tom, dick, and harry, there is just too much to explain, and some folk even get confused with who is on strike and how long we will be out for :confused

Probably the same idiots that shout about us being later and post office closures, idiots!!
Amazing, i got exactly the same. the bloke stood by his gate and applauded me. I thought he was joking until he thanked me for being conciencious.
He wasn't best pleased when i told him he had the wrong day, and i will be withdrawing my labour with pride tomorrow.
I won't expect an xmas tip.

Same here, and once I had explained to everyone that we are on strike tomorrow...............
they all wished us well and 'hope you win the battle'.

I also added that if you see anyone delivering on my Walk tomorrow that they would either be a 'Manager or a Scab!
Not Me, as I will be on the Picket line!'

This raised a big smile.

Same experience as the rest of you but i welcomed the question it starts a conversation! it gave me loads of opportunity
to explain why we are not happy.
The overwhelming majority of folk on my round are supportive :dance
which suggests the biased media and press are totally out of touch with the views
of their public..
