ayrshire meeting monday eve. rule 13 ballot ? regards business savings pegasus georoute and all the other s**t
i would ban otime for a start
part timers could screw the whole country up and hold company to ransom if they used their heads
some of them actually believe they will continue to make up their hours to full time cant see whats round corner
they actually come in at 5am bfore ftime start shifts in hope of otime slavery i call it all for sake of 2hrs or so otime they work hrs for free sad gits

guv, 100% agree wi you, been saying this as long as i remember, they hold the key to all this, but too many cant see past the end of their hooters.

All it would take is a couple of weeks of them saying no thanks to comin in early, dble preppin etc, and right now, it would go tits up.

Most of them say they cant afford to stop doing o/t, but when the doms cuts come in, they will be back to 22 and 30 hours.

I for one , will be glad, ive backed them all the way for years, but its never returned.

This is what EVERY branch/Div should of done.

if offices that have not had EA walk out i guarentee RM will call it illegal secondery action. They may even take legal action against your division.

Not if they have an official ballot and have previously advised RM what would trigger the ballot and what the question on the ballot
is AFAIK. The hard thing, legally, is that because of the 2nd series of strikes that were cancelled in Oct 2007 the CWU now has to name all possible strikers and which business unit they come under.

I hope that they have had trial runs at this as if they get it wrong it could damage the Union to quite a large degree, never mind just in the pocket.

TBT your right we can legally ballot the whole of London on executiive action as all offices could well face it once they have taken action in another office. Therefore there is a trade dispute.

many weeks ago my office and its problems with proposed office savings featured in a long running thread here.many posters were critical of people and there actions during the savings discussions.for anyone interested in how it panned out.Option1,supported by the majority of the office blocked by cwu.This week option 2 imposed by royal mail.7 driving duties reduced in hours from 40 hours to 30.The majority of these duties currently held by most of the senior men in the office.Upshot-take a buydown or go back walking[this including a 59 year old].Most older guys have applied for buydowns,those who dont get them will probably end up office reserves[including posties at least with over 10 years service].Another casualty of this carve-up was the much maligned office rep who's duty has also mysteriously been made part-time,thus resulting in him being put back to a reserve.The outcome of this shows me that you should trust nobody,either cwu or rmail as this long running farce leaves our office being SHAFTED BY BOTH ORGANISATIONS.

darrybuncan - has your rep or anyone in the chain of command started the process for a ballot. As far as I understand it now that they have carried out Executive action ths allows the CWU to ballot the affected staff.

tbt,rep demoralised by all this.me and him had clashes over this but have since made-up.The irony of all of this he is now prepping my firms delivery having never done the duty in his life.if things pan out a certain way we will both end up office reserves and 22 years of service will count for f***All.

What good does a ballot do after the changes have been forced in

My office had the changes forced in we've had no communication from the CWU about what we're doing about it (rule 13 ballot was agreed to be taken but we've heard nothing since that).

We're being left to swing in the wind by RMs bullying management who have imposed unworkable conditions on us all while the CWU just fiddles while Rome burns

TBH the CWU seems more interested in protecting their bank balance than protecting their members conditions.

Why did anyone think otherwise after OCTOBER 2007 and the surrender document which every postman/woman up and down the land received!. Which some word smith at the CWU had turned into a victory for royalmail and a defeat for us all!.

Well done to the Cowdenbeath Posties who came out this morning and showed Royal Mail they wont be bullied,they came out for 30 minutes,and thats just the start

,our ballot is on it's way in 2 weeks,the bigger offices are now lining up to take action.

That, DarryBuncan, is what your office should be doing. You should all be united in your stance to bring to heel RM management who impose their own ideas on yourselves without planning that it will all work. Your office needs to ballot so that you all get what is right. A decent round that is achievable without using your car, without running round and without coming in early. That is your right as a worker but unfortunately you have to fight for it otherwise RM will shaft you all again and again

broxi51,that will never happen in our office.its a ''walkingmans'' office.the majority of them are still finishing long before their time and their job just got easier as they now dont take special deliverys.They have now been allocated to the driving duties because the office failed an audit due to the failure of non conformation of delivery.

jock,thats another urban myth probably spread by those who think they know other peoples business.i was number 15 on the redundancy list.i am not eligible for vr as i am not 55 or over.i can only qualify for tma at royal mail discretion.i have actually applied for a buydown as its the only way to keep my current duty if i dont want to become a driving reserve after 22 years service.so my pensions F***** ANYWAY.the same pension changes the cwu said they would fight against.wonder where that one went!
