They(we) are on inferior contacts and were promised equalisation. Instead we got out higher OT rate, the one redeeming thing, taken off us in return for going 6p/hour closer to the legacy rate.postslippete wrote: ↑31 May 2026, 19:53funkflex55 wrote: ↑31 May 2026, 09:34Doesn't RM ever think that if they paid better they would increase the quality of people applying and improve staff retention?
100%
Some of the guys I've worked with have adopted the attitude of 'quiet quitting' or just doing the minimum required because they feel that they are on inferior contracts.
We've had a couple of nepotism hires....one is truly useless. Applied for an open duty and got it. Doesn't clear, gets her mum to take oversized parcel to be added to the DPR cos she thinks as a WPC she has authority to chuck stuff onto the vans.
Also had a diabetic guy in his early 60s looking for an easy wind down before retiring. Told the manager at the interview he's fine with walking cos he takes his dog out for 20mins a day
He got 4 days training on an HCT duty, came back 20 mins after the guy training him, red faced and absolutely ruined.
Next day the manager came to ask how he was getting on and he just said its not for him and walked out.
