You comparing leaving letters in a frame to the holocaust?
A guy in our office went on a one man crusade against this, and was bringing tracked back instead of mail. He nearly ended up getting sacked. Doing parcels is a reasonable request; just do it. Yes, we all know it is outright lies when they say parcels are not prioritised, but all that is way above our paygrades and ain't worth the agro of arguing. And let's be fair, I'm quite lazy and running parcels is far easier than walking 15 or 20 miles.
I've never heard of Godwin's law but Royal Mail are certainly working Sod's Law.
Prioritising the parcels over the letters is great but it doesn't solve anything if they are not getting the post delivered on a daily basis. Even worse if it's all been tied up and taken for a ride only for it to go back in the frame again. I'm not lazy but its far easier to walk 10 miles than it is 15 or 20 the next day.
I’m not saying you are wrong with your calculations but I’d love to see the figures for how much further you walk on a busy day compared to a light one. I have a town duty and you walk the entire loop whether you go to every house or not. Of course you aren’t plodding down every drive way but I wonder how much different a 50% call rate day would be to a 75%.
I guess a lot depends on the makeup of your delivery I.e terraced housing versus bigger estates etc. I always noticed lighter days more when I did rural deliveries that is for sure.

Council estate housing with over a 1,000 calls per duty. On busier days we are just not getting through the work in the time - mainly due to the revisions. Today, for example, we managed to do loops in around 35-45 minutes. On a busier day, we could well be looking at doing loops in an hour - especially if the mail and D2Ds haven't gone from the previous day. Over 7 or 8 loops that difference means an extra 2 hours and I haven't included the big packets which I often have to write down as they are usually in double figures for both duties. Years ago I only had to write the parcels down at Xmas; now I have to write them down everyday there's that many
Unfortunately, the revisions have impacted some posties more than others and as you can imagine some posties are still coming in early and flying round trying to get finished whereas others like me are taking a break, using the trolleys and delivering what we can. The COM has often brought in other staff early to help put the mail in to try and get us out on delivery a bit earlier but we can only get out once the Specials have been sorted and they are a bit slower in there now as there are less indoor staff.

1000 calls is crazy. Mine is 700, but it isn’t one big estate, it is dotted around a ‘rural’ town. It is certainly achievable though we booked OT today as we still have shorter days on a Monday than the rest of the week.

Theres a duty in our office, with over 1000 calls that part fails just about every day, just thrown together not timed of course, all tracks go though theres no priority
We've now got a shared van duty with over 2,000 calls, of which about half are terraced streets. Of the rest, half is semi-detached houses with paths and half is blocks of 3 storey tenement flats. Computer says yes, delivery staff say no.

Please keep up. Corruption and lies is what led to a second Select Committee on Royal Mail and Simon Thompson's resignation. There is nothing loose and defamatory regarding Royal Mail and its consistent failings.

Most of the s**t you see everyday is companies and CEOs blatantly lying to people and gaslighting them into thinking everything is normal so this isn't anything new. It's a matter of now how much more do the British people really take.
Why are they prioritising tracked 48 when they cost a fair bit less than a standard first class parcel? It’s a con.
The clues in the name, because they are tracked the customer can complain if it doesn't arrive on time, with 1st nobody really has a clue when it's due to arrive/when it does arrive.

Any packet with a 2D barcode can be Scanned to Route in the morning which will send out the ready for delivery message, so if you really want to be a nuisance you can scan it Not Attempted in the afternoon when you inevitably have to bring the non-Tracked back.
