URGENT UPDATE FOR ROYAL MAIL GROUP MEMBERS
“The CWU and Royal Mail group have continued talks during this week. Progress has been made in some areas against a very difficult backdrop. We understand how frustrating it has been with how much time it has taken but we must stress there are still some custard creams left. During the middle of this week we thought we were at the bottom of the biscuit tin but then Simon Thompson arrived at the talks with some jammy dodgers. Yet ANOTHER example of the underhand tactics deployed against your union. Talks will continue over this weekend with the view to reaching an agreement by early next week. The postal executive committee will be meeting next Tuesday to endorse another week of this prolonged tedious bullshit. Stick by your union and we come through this.

FFS strike, there will be no RM without posties and no more gravy train for these corporate leeches . If it goes under so be it, there are other jobs out there. RM is not the be all and end all.

Why strike, you you dont even know what the deal is yet. Let the people who are willing to work with the new terms & pay rate work. If you don't want to, go & get 1 of the other jobs out there

Seriously, how many people do you know who have had an inflation matching pay rise? Apart from pensioners.arsenalbob wrote: ↑13 Apr 2023, 18:2010% pay rise over 3 years is an insult whichever way they dress it up. Who in their right mind would vote yes for a real terms pay cut? Surely it’s time now to announce a one week walkout followed by work to rule and an overtime ban. Let’s get serious about it. No more pussyfooting.

So why bother striking? Just jump before the ship sinks while there are lifeboats left.

Re: CWU : pivotal day in negotiations-We will update you fully within the next 24 hours.
Most postman just don't like change. It's just that simple. It's a repetitive job with a simple schedule, you do your round you come home. Anything that changes within that bubble that's when the fear and anger comes in. Hence the mentality of "if I'm going down, I'm taking you with me." They are far more capable than they realise but they settle for this job that continuously treats them like dirt and will cause them to feel more worthless. It's a hard cycle to break out of, I've been there before in past jobs. It's finding that strength to leave that unfortunately I don't think most of these people do. Me personally, I no longer have any attachments to this job, in fact it's already stopping me doing the things I enjoy since wiped after work and rent has increased due to inflation so going to have no choice in the matter. The well for overtime is completely gone since just leaving s**t in frames now or giving it the runners be it for free or ghosting. Just waiting on what decision comes out tomorrow, if union accepts the offers, will take the lump sum and leave then, back pay would be brilliant. If striking, will just look elsewhere.
