Do you not acknowledge that the cost of living crisis now makes a backdated no strings pay rise even more unaffordable?
So what are you suggesting Andy 13 posts?
Just because a Millionaire CEO is so Bloody Minded that he refuses to come to a Negotiated Deal and just drags things out for so long that
HARD WORKING Posties are forced to compromise their principles and return to work ... Then when we eventually do get a deal,
WE should accept that he's strapped for case and
WE should let him off backdating the paltry pay rise that we'll probably end up with?
It reminds me of those Medical Compensation Class Actions where the Medical Companies just drag out the legal proceedings knowing full well that if they ever have to settle there'll be a lot less people to pay compensation to. Did those Aids Victims, that recieved contaminated blood, accept lower compensation payments because there happened to be a High Rate of Inflation at the time? You Reap what you Sow Simon.
Thompson is certainly at the lower end of millionaire status and will be paying plenty of tax, Some people are Born into millionaire status, whatever you think of Thompson he worked and put in the hard work to reach his position, companies like Apple which he was in for 2 years and probably forms part of your pension don’t employ just anyone.
The average pay of chief executives of FTSE 100 companies increased from £3.2m last year to £3.9m this year, according to research by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Rm was once a FTSE 100 company but has lost ground in recent years to competitors, this is what people pay attention to, investors, customers etc.
A lot of CEO’s of big American companies earn many tens of millions, they certainly haven’t been trading for 400 plus years.
Returning to work makes financial sense right now for many, compare the BT deal which the Union are championing with our newly revised offer which Thompson has moved on and you can see our striking efforts have had some effect. But little when we have lost ALOT of pay already.
Were you not happy that you had a secure job during the pandemic whilst others were losing there’s? some people have been given no pay rise at all or are still earning less then they were before Covid, you are asking there situations to be disrupted by further strike action, see the threads and posts on here about the low pension forecasts and jobs after the Royal Mail and tell me how great this fantastic Union is that has us all arguing amongst ourselves .
