Yes, it is a big WOW!

What they want to do is introduce new people on new terms and conditions which are effectively a self employed status ie own van, ie thereby, Royal Mail wont have the upfront van contracts with their van suppliers, they wont have the fleet maintenance and MOT costs as it will be your responsibility to provide and look after your van at your own cost, the same as happens with Evri etc etc. Also, if you are self employed there will be no sickness pay, which takes this a stage further than what has already been mentioned on sick pay ie first 3 days etc. And you can forget any overtime as it will be your responsibility to deliver everything that comes in that particluar day. All this of course will massivley reduce costs for Royal Mail, up their profits, and increase shareholder payouts, but at a massive cost to a workforce who are being railroaded into everything Thomspon wants to do, in part due to a totally incompetent CWU!!

Truly shocking what Thompson has and is doing to Royal Mail, the jobs gone now, 8 days of strikes and lost pay, for what, sweet FA!

Read what the offer is- the 2% bung is conditional upon a "successful revision", whatever that is.
And doesn't flow through to following uears.
This is a 7% offer over 2 years, with ambiguous conditions.
We've already had 2%, so work out how much extra you'll get after tax, over 2 years at 5%.
It's peanuts.

No they didn't.
They just overcomplicated a simple process and made it look like they had.
They took back the "advance" but then they gave you the proper 2% back pay including allowances and overtime.
When I say proper who knows unless you have your own accountant but it was supposed to be proper.

im sorry but we know this offer isnt serious, he knows fine well only a mug would sign for this insulting offer. For a start im not wanting another resign, had about 3 in the last two years, need to be a table top revision with no resigning duties sack all that again, fightning to hold onto ur walk again no one wants that. Its a pay cut, its not 9 per cent, we already have 2 per cent and 1.5 is next to nothing, u wouldnt notice any sort of pay rise, just give us at least 2 grand lump sum for having to listen to this drivel. I think they should do the decent thing and stick to 2 year redundancy package of wages .
