The problem with this survey is its pure pointlessness.
It's not designed to be a deep dive into employee engagement levels it's designed to tick some boxes and justify the position of Director of Peeps or whatever they're calling HR these days

Managers are almost having a stroke trying to smile this month and handing out kitkats like a coke dealer at the Tory party conference, for what purpose?

The survey team already have their turd polishing gear out and once they can find some half decent metrics it'll be stuck on a poster and pinned to the office wall, combined cost probably in the millions but in all the years I've been here I haven't seen a thing change due to an employee survey, not one single change.

So am I right in thinking that you can just pick any unit in the country to leave feedback? :funneh

As with so many things in Royal Mail, its just a box ticking exercise. A few weeks will pass and they’ll release these unbelievable stats to show themselves in a positive light, ignoring the surely huge amount of negative feedback we will give them.

Step 1 Go on workplace and find where that basket of a manager is.

Step 2 Go on the survey site and do your thing.

Repeat step 1...

This is my first Big Trust Survey, and it does intrigue me, asd it raises questions as to what questions it will be asking.

The biggest one for me is, are there questions concerning senior management (rather than local DO), e.g. Simon Thompson that can be answered

I read his posts on Workplace, and he is always going on about how we are a team, but deflects any questions and remains silent on any subject that does not praise him, his underlings or RM.

The impression Simon gives to me of his 'we are a team' ethos, is that he is Captain of a Roman slave galley, an all below him are the team, known as the opg's, who are are shackled to the oars, rowing to his beat (revisons, vans, etc) and not having a say at the pace
Everything will be OK in the end, If it's not OK, then its not the end.

The questions all need tick box answers along the lines of

Strongly agree
Tend to agree
Neither
Tend to disagree
Strongly disagree

Things like "I am involved in decisions about my job", "I have a manageable workload", "managers deliver on promises", "I rarely look for other jobs".

The only free text is why you would or wouldn't recommend working at RM to friends and family.

Interesting, I was sent a card with a QR code on it even though I left the company over a month ago. Filled it in anyway, you can guess what every answer was...

I believe the Trust index & The engagement scores are where improvement is focused. Eight questions (5 & 3 respectively) contained in the survey give those results. The participation percentage of 48% in the big trust survey last year would also be another focus.

Confused, how are peeps posting response rates when it's anonymous, how do they know that each person has voted?

I think I see what you are saying this is not a 'anonymous' survey more 'confidential'.

You don't.
You just know that a person has responded under your unit code.

Our whole section was pulled into the canteen area today & told to do the survey multiple times on your PDA, phones even the managers phone & for every survey submitted you would be put in a draw for a paid day off, my partner did it 12 times

You just know that a person has responded under your unit code.
So, say there are 100 peeps at my DO, I get you lot to fill some out, say 20 of ya, but at my DO everybody fills them out, that then makes 120.
?

I'm not sure if the multiple thing works, if it's a genuine flaw in the system or if they've left it like that deliberately to skew the numbers but it definitely ain't right.

It makes the whole thing even more of a farce than it already is.
