CWU reaffirm opposition to second referendum
And then we have Dianne Abbott who is still shadow home secretary. Who can forget this car crash of an interview.

McDonnell was the finance man for the GLC at a very young age so not sure what your point about about his financial naivety is, the manifesto was fully costed if that is what you are referring to?Tman wrote:He can come across as an earnest and avuncular bank manager in open debates, but when his mask slips the true nature of MacDonnell is revealed.mickeymacca wrote:Tman wrote:26l34 wrote: I think MacDonnell is pretty good actually apart from the odd faux pais.
Apart from his astounding financial naivety (for a possible future Chancellor) there's his record of praising the IRA, Esther McVeigh and how she should hang, "swimming through vomit" etc etc.
Rather more than the odd faux pas.
Bumbling Boris had him for ar*e paper in his opening speech in parliament, so much for "steely minded" MacDonnell.

He usually trots out the same old mantra of "we''ll just tax the rich and the corporations and then we'll have enough do everything from renationalisation to wealth redistribution".
Naïve simplistic nonsense.
Anyway, hasn't every politician claimed that their manifestos are "fully costed"? Never seems to work in practice.

I’ll tell you now, she’d make a vastly better Home Secretary than any of the asylum seeker bashing, draconian terror laws passing, detention centre loving psychopaths we had to endure under Blair. Honestly, the way you guys attack Labour for apparently losing its way when your ideas of what constitutes anti-racism is so embarrassingly shallow would be hilarious if it wasn’t actually dangerous.

The LSE noted in its analysis of Labour’s 2017 manifesto:
“With some policy exceptions, Corbyn’s social democracy has a good deal in common with its historical forbears, and more in common with New Labour, than is sometimes supposed.”
They also noted:
“Yet we find a significant gap in the scholarly knowledge in understanding what Labour is setting out to achieve. In our view, the press either mis-understand or wrongly frame Corbyn’s agenda.”
It’s little wonder so much rubbish is spouted in threads like these because of this, but even so, it’s remarkable how detached from reality the debates about Labour have become.

Why, are black women politicians to be treated differently to other politicians now? Is that how she's got as far as she has?Going after a black woman like she’s the first politician to ever forget their sums are you, qwhite interesting.
First we had you claiming that the anti-Semitism row in the Labour Party was insignificant and "weaponised" by a Corbyn-hostile media, now that any criticism of Abbott is down to racism.
Has Uncle Jeremy got you on his daily email update or something?
You do seem to like trotting out these glib excuses for Corbyn and co's many failings.
BTW it looks like your predictive text is playing up as It's badly misspelt the word "quite".

The only people treating her differently are her critics, and it’s very telling.
You brought up the anti-semitism issue then posted a link to a website which lists a few dozen complaints, many of which pre-date Corbyn becoming leader. It’s almost like you’re not actually treating the problem of racism seriously. Do better, please.

Can you tell me why you loved pre-Corbyn Labour so much? What was it about Labour before 2015 that was so good? Why would Dianne Abbott make a worse home sec than, say, David Blunkett?RTP wrote:Your a strange person and I'm not biting. I routinely link you to or provide evidence of examples of pre-Corbyn Labour racism, of studies refuting the anti-semitism smears, to evidence Labour hasn’t been ‘infiltrated’, to examinations of the extremity - or, as we find out, the middle of the road-ness - of Labour’s policies, none of which you engage with. In reply you point me to... a show on Netflix.RTP wrote:And then you might do well to watch the great hack. Might open your eyes up a bit. I doubt it, but we can live in hope.

Differently from whom? I see politicians of all parties being routinely castigated for their performances, so again, why should a black woman be treated differently from anyone else? Is that not racism in itself? It's patronising in the extreme to excuse her woeful abject performances by bringing ethnicity and gender into it, but then again, I can just see the PR people in Walworth saying "Look, just say any criticism of Abbott is down to racism, it usually works".="26l34"]The only people treating her differently are her critics, and it’s very telling.
I expect they're also the ones who say "just down play the anti-Semitism thing by saying it's only a few cases and a hostile media" too.
So you're criticising the web site itself rather than acknowledging the problem? If some complaints do pre-date Corbyn, so what? They're also happening now and he (and others) aren't addressing it.You brought up the anti-semitism issue then posted a link to a website which lists a few dozen complaints, many of which pre-date Corbyn becoming leader. It’s almost like you’re not actually treating the problem of racism seriously. Do better, please.
Someone actually using the word "qwhite" is very telling too. What's next, "I is woke" as a serious rebuttal?

Except, the only person being castigated for their poor performances here is a woman of colour. Yes, that’s ‘qwhite interesting’. Ultimately if you don’t think Abbott attracts an insanely high level of scrutiny and abuse then again, this suggests a very shaky grasp of what racism is.
As for anti-semitism, the numbers of allegations the party itself revealed earlier this year were in the hundreds. This would’ve been a more relevant number to use to illustrate your point, not that even that higher figure actually backs up what you’re saying - of the claims against members, about 100 were immediately suspended and a further 200 were subject to investigation. At present there have been 12 expulsions. Such numbers simply don’t illustrate institutional anti-semitism, nor do they suggest the party isn’t addressing the issue.
