Yesterday was too busy for my liking, given that we were on a shorter attendance. Plenty of packets came through from the mail centre. (why are THEY not changing to fit in with OUR way of working?/ serving the public) Today was busier. The main problem yet again, 2 days running was the time we got off the IPS. Still, I type this as the snow begins to fall thick and fast and there is a chilly breeze in the air. Ah well day off tomorrow. Hope my mate Geoff enjoys himself on my round tomorrow, it's his no1 most hated walk on his rotation

Another busy one today. Compounded by the fact that I had lapsing to do. Ah well, kerching.

Tuesday started off alright, thought I might make a bit of time as it was light(ish) and I had physio in the afternoon. The guys bagged up and I loaded everything on to the van, we all piled in and I turned the key, nothing, dead. Go and get a manager who tells me to go and get the battery boost, get that, connect, dead nothing, someone had'nt plugged it in properly Eventually they give me the only van thats left in the office which had also been taken off the road but starts. Finally got out about 10ish and spent all morning driving in 2nd gear as the clutch was knackered and I could barely change gear. Bloody shite Maxus & management

Yet another day that we didn't have enough on IPS or enough to actually do the deliveries everyone called to IPS which just meant that we where all late out, the management don't have a clue on how to run the office, they just seem to wander around (in between doing IPS and prepping frames) in a state confusion as to what they should actually be doing. 3pm and there where still many people out delivering and yet the management still can't see what is wrong.

I remember the last time I got one of those calls, about three or four years ago now, the reply I gave then has ensured I enjoy a relaxed and pleasent day away from the Royal Mail madhouse ever since.

Worked my ass off today, managed to get back nearly 2 hours before cut off. Didn't take a break and really hammered it to get out to go to my other job. Management were stopping early returners and getting them to do extra work, so I snuck out before he saw me and got the hell outta there!

Really really piddles me off that a minority of other posties go home, or sit in a transport cafe for an hour or two get to go home when they return and the people who hammer it and get the job done get penalised. Bollocks! I woudn't mind but I have one of the longest/most rural rounds in the office.

I think he pissed himself off - ie he hammered it had 2 hours to kill and went to his other job, but if anyone else did the same thing but hid in a cafe or at home then thats wrong. Of course because he had another job to go to that excuses him.

Actually your right it is confusing in the scenario he complains about people skivvying off for 2 hours when they were being paid by RM, but he did the same but that's ok because he was off to another job .

I got one of those calls about 6.30 in the morning. I told him "yes , no problem , i'll be in shortly" then turned my phone off and went back to sleep. When i turned up the next day the DOM went mental as he'd had to do the walk himself! I denied that i'd had any phone call and funnily enough he always asks at least a day before if i want to work my day off.
