So what happens if there is a second wave of covid 19 infections and a second lockdown?
Or when the next virus forces a similar lockdown?
Will people think twice about going sick if they believe they will lose out on any potential bonus? A bonus which precedent has shown will only be paid to people with a clear sick record?

If this is what the union are claiming they negotiated then they need to consider their positions.
If this is what was imposed by RM then they shouldn't attempt to take any credit for it.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Of course they will. Presenteeism is enough of a problem under normal circumstances; people will, absolutely, drag themselves in at potential risk to everyone else in the place if they think money is at stake. The high probability of this can’t have gone over the heads of those who negotiated it.

The payment must include those who have authorised absence else Royal Mail is promoting unsafe behaviour against Government guidelines.

It can be paid by having the £6million returned by the complete failure that is Rico Back who has not fulfilled his obligation to the company nor met the criteria set out by the shareholders.

While still on the company books Rico should be out on delivery and not on gardening leave.

According to the business it's costing them £25 million.

I think postman needs to do a ballot

1. Pro rata
2. Anyone that worked the period £200
3. £200 for everyone

I think to be honest it would be

1. Pro rata £200
2. Anyone that worked the period £170
3. £150 for everyone

Might be a different outcome bearing in mind we're still just about majority full-time.

Personally I think it should be for people that worked the whole period or done on actual hours worked, I would imagine the vast majority of furloughed colleagues would not have an issue with that, but it's not going to happen so it is what it is and still better than naff all, so I will accept whatever it is.

My other half works for tesco. The way they are paying their staff is 10% of all hours worked including overtime from 9th march until???Staff that are isolating due to age or health conditions are getting full pay for at least 12 weeks and do not get the bonus because essentially they haven't been at work dealing with armageddon. This seems fairer because the more you worked the more bonus you will get.

If you've been fighting for your life on a ventilator, you aren't eligible for a company bonus? :arrrghhh

What if you had a fever and thought you'd stay off work to protect your colleagues? They get the bonus but you don't? :arrrghhh

What about if you've been savaged on delivery by a Rottweiler or another accident at work? :arrrghhh
Then you weren't physically at work, you didnt do the work.

If you were on holiday you weren't physically at work either. Is there an abatement for that?

You are at work when your on holiday your not sick.
You're either at work or you're not at work.
You're not making any sense.

This wasn't a choice people had it was a mandatory instruction from government in order to save people's lives. It was law and it was sensible and anyone who ignored it and went to work coughing and spluttering was a dangerous idiot.

Besides there were plenty of people at work who didn't "do the work".
Some of what has been taken out as a "full duty" has been laughable.
There are plenty comments on here about people not working their full hours.
There are guys on business duties in my office who've never had it so good.

I really don't get this selfish, petty and quite frankly spiteful attitude shown towards colleagues. It's no wonder so many offices are weak and get torn apart by management when this is an example of solidarity.

You dont have to be physically at work when your on holiday pay because technically by law you are at work,i know you cant be in two places at once lol, choice or not you still didnt actually do work,as for the lazys who didnt do the work they still turned up at work albiet did nothing.
