Why post something like this when it is obvious what you have to do

In the same vein why the put-down, they asked for advice all you had to do was ignore or answer, no need for the grow up comment.

No sensible input from this poster, only running down others. He has a very high opinion of his own merits, IMO and a very low opinion of others. Contributes nothing to back up his comments, a typical empty vessel noising off to get a reaction.
Got to be a wind up merchant as I find his views downright ignorant, insulting and irrelevant, certainly not constructive.!

What I’d do is inform management before leaving that Im going to complete but it’s going to be long day. Take plenty of food/coffee and water. take a full 50 minute break (if over 9 hour day) and work it in no rush just do it safely and think of the over time! Easy money. 2 days now probably isn’t even near a busy day come Christmas.

equal pay for equal work
You’re suggesting he books four or five hours on top of the time he goes over?
if he is doing 2 days worth of delivery then yes. why should he do 2 days worth of delivery for the same pay when all his colleagues will be doing one days worth of delivery? and yes if cause of RM's poor management he goes over his time he should be paid overtime on top. Even if he does 1 road that has 2 days worth of mail in the frame he should be paid for that

if someone had done that delivery on Saturday as overtime they would have probably got 4-5 hours pay for it

equal pay for equal work

So if you worked 10 hours he straight up pay you 14? Nice! I’d be paying my work mates to go sick! (Joking! But that’s awesome surprised he can do that though as it’s not the way it’s normally done) 2 days of mai isn’t that uncommon in some offices with lots off sick .

For those curious on the outcome, I turned up in the morning and said to dom, "so there's 2days worth of post in the frame right?"
Dom replies "Yeah but you'll get it done, easy, you're quick!"
Which I knew he'd say, hence why I had already decided not to do OT.
So I ended up leaving absorption and an estate of 100 or so addresses, and still went over 15 minutes.
Wasn't the worst of days, just unnecessary.
More so the fact we actually had a guy come in from another office on Saturday to cover a small bit of delivery that a collections guy does during the week.
So why he didn't just do a full duty instead I have no idea, sounds like he had the hours.

Anyways cheers for the replies, the topic seemed to spark a bit of interesting convo too!

am I new? no. are you? you're either to nice or mugging yourself off. last time I had 2 days worth of mail which was this year I was paid 4 hours for the entire delivery which was left from the previous day plus overtime I did with the backing of my union rep. Its only a grey area because some people are to weak to say what's right and fair and then stand their ground.

i'll say it again if RM was to cover a duty on overtime they would pay out 4 to 5 hours to get it done, sometimes even more!! by just saying ' its going to be a long day blah blah blah' and going along with what they say, then they will carry on doing this sham of management.

it may well be happening more and more and RM will be rubbing their hands if more people like you suffer and do it for no extra pay.
