As one poster has already indicated is 17:00 really possible?
I am thinking of that 2 months to 10 week period in winter when its dark at 16:00.
I remember a few times at xmas when a backlog developed and some people did try stay to out on overtime and try to get a straight edge.
Delivering on poorly lit estates at that time of day (temperature dropping as well) was very slow going and surely raises many H and S issues.
Unlit driveways/garden paths and so on, not workable.

Off-hand I don't know if iLSM sequencing data gets logged on automis (my gut feeling is that it doesn't,) and IMP sequencing data certainly won't so going by automis is probably a complete waste of time

RM never learn from previous mistakes. When we shifted to later start times as part of a single daily delivery there was a big drop in mail volumes, especially in town centre duties, because other couriers were getting out sooner than we did. If we get out even later then the s**t will hit the fan. Already see rival companies out delivering now before 8 am in my area they'll be laughiong all the way to the bank if we don't get out before midday.

The worst thing they ever did was moving away from us being out before the sh*tty competition had even started work oh and the fact we weren't around to give directions to all these packet dummies who can't find the end of their nose

wanting us to start 2 hours later, would be a nightmare for most postpersons , rush hour going to work rush hour going home. delivering in the dark in winter. Have they not thought about this or do they care.

Oh they have thought it through, finishing in the dark and cold of winter which will obviously slow delivery down... But then no paid overtime for ensuring your duty is complete and that of others in your group!

Its clear that the staff have no choice but to fight to protect OUR Royal Mail from short sighted management only interested in short term savings. I can tell you straight my customers complain when i walk up their drives at 15:00 on a heavy day. If we deliver post later and later then it becomes more irrelevant to customers and will speed decline. And parcels, o for god sake our customers want their parcels as early in the day a possible. Are we really going to slow down the whole network for a small percentage of people who (a)shop online at midnight and (b) also want that item the next day. CWU you have my full backing!

Those of us with 15:30 finish times now, are already working in the dark, especially when working over at Christmas. It's no fun doing rural heavy rounds in such conditions I assure you.

Finished at 3.45 today (Monday), an hour over....and this is the quietest time of the year (allegedly). I'm not sure how my hours are going to "even" out on a swings and roundabout basis. My Van share partner and I are not considered to be slow on delivery by any means. Our office duty structure is a nightmare.

We did deliver in the dark but it wasn't for very long and we didn't have anything like the pressure we have now or delivery spans anywhere near the size of today
