Big Problem at Royal Mail/union

In our office, there are people getting paid for say, 60 hours a week but they're not actually working those hours because some hours are ghost overtime and some are because they've negotiated being paid two hours for an hour loop because the managers are desperate!

and as I stated when the union came to us with the deal and we all agreed to it, it STATED HOURS WORKED TO BE REVIEWED EVERY SIX MONTHS THAT IS THE DEAL AND THAT IS WHAT WE SIGNED FOR
Big Al,
Bit is it "a comfortable life" working 60 to 70 hours per week on average if not more ? :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Royal Mail have held the upper hand for years in issuing contracts for part timers and despite what dingo says the union are well aware of the situation. RMs wish is for a part time workforce for almost the entire business and sure enough over the years that is what's happening on a large scale. In my last 5,6 or even more years there wasn't a single full time contract issued even when a full timer left, the vacancy was filled by a part timer. I understand a part timer wanting to earn for as many hours as he/she can and it's easy to say "stop working those hours" but if he/she doesn't then someone else will. It's time the union listened to the shop floor and took on board what's being said and looked at exactly what the recruitment procedure is. The office I worked in had about 140 and now has 160 every single new recruit a part timer, it doesn't take a genius to work out exactly what's going on.
