D2D's are NOT optional, you HAVE to do them,it's in your contract.
What you DON'T have to do is prep them in your own time.
If you refuse to do them or just don't sign for them and leave them you can be taken down the conduct code.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

A guy in my office got sacked during the strikes for dumping his door to doors and he DIDN'T claim for them. They sacked him for not doing his job probably and wilfully delaying mail, although this was his first actual offence. This only happened because the area manager caught him doing it... our DOM would have just ignored it like he ignores most of his job.

Nobody in our office seems to believe that door to door prep is built in to our prep time. I don't know where they think the other 4.5 hours of their 8 hour day goes when they only do 1.5 hours IPS before going onto their frames...

i used to try and get my d2ds done on monday and tuesday as those days are usually lighter, but after finding out that our dom wants short monday and tuesdays and long thursday and fridays i am now prepping 20% of my d2ds before i go out on delivery each day, apparently last monday 8 or 9 on my floor were back prepping next days d2ds an hour before official finishing time, of course these are the same people who come in at silly o clock.
