Re: 5 days delivery.
so even though royal mail has effectively made more profits than last year, and thats despite tmt delivering in more cities and amazon doing their own parcels, we are saying the company is in a bad position that it needs to lose a working day. i reckon they'd water the uso down. starting with rurals. we have alot of hospitals in our area who need, a saturday delivery. but who knows. it could vary from office to office. maybe 5 days during the summer etc. does anyone know roughly how many ppl leave royal mail a week. weve lost around 7 in total since our revision in 2013.

I don't think they'd be allowed by the regulator to lessen the rural service. The whole point of the USO is a one price goes anywhere, every day service. Losing a day across the whole country is far more likely and wouldn't really affect anyone.raikky wrote:so even though royal mail has effectively made more profits than last year, and thats despite tmt delivering in more cities and amazon doing their own parcels, we are saying the company is in a bad position that it needs to lose a working day. i reckon they'd water the uso down. starting with rurals. we have alot of hospitals in our area who need, a saturday delivery. but who knows. it could vary from office to office. maybe 5 days during the summer etc. does anyone know roughly how many ppl leave royal mail a week. weve lost around 7 in total since our revision in 2013.

The absolute maximum amount of statutory redundancy pay is £13,920 as weekly pay is capped at £464 per week and service is capped at 20 years.bringon4dayweeks wrote:i dont think everyone under vr would get £50 000 i would think 15 years statutory redundancy would be £6 000clashcityrocker wrote:VR would cost something in the region of 750 million pounds. (assuming 15 000 x £50 000)Fatboyslim wrote: As already mentioned. VR.
Compulsory redundancy would cost a maximum of £14 000/person.
My statutory redundancy payment based on 15 years service is around £8 000.
Anyone who thinks the business is going to shell out the best part of 3/4 billion pounds needs their head examined.
Personally I’m in my mid forties with over 25 years service and would receive about £9,500.

They can't suddenly take your Saturday off you just like that...most offices are on a one in four with the majority of staff wanting more Saturday's off...it's highly unlikely staff will agree to give their only Saturday in 4 weeks off
