I would only be happy to consider those sort of hours if we started our day bundling up and out on delivery, return to depot to then do IPS and prep ready for the following working day.

I think it is quite funny that there is a worry about it being dark when we would finish, while the same people seem to want us out delivering before people go to work...... (when it is dark. Remember when we were issued with torches?)

Fish is correct , Royal Mail"s key strategy for the future is to move to one pass meaning that you will not get a wave 1 sequencing mail but all 100% later than your current wave 2 arrival. Considering that mech mail makes up approx 70% of your overall mail then they believe that no one would need to start before your mail arrives.

By one pass are you talking about one wave instead of two. Mail goes through a CSS in three passes, can't see how the technology could sequence in one.

One wave would certainly mean sequenced mail arriving later in delivery offices from MPU's and make night CSS operators and night drivers start and finish later.

8am start. Would love it, we start at 8.50am finish 16.40pm.

What do you do in your duty hours?

Full timers start at 8pm and start doing primary sorting. We part timers start at 8.50 and continue with primary if full timers have not completed and then sort parcels.
Next is throwing in D2ds, walksort, flats etc, redirections, kill offs and then bagging up. 20 mins break, load van and off delivering approx 10.45/11am. Five hour delivery, P739s back to local Post Office and then back to DO, 20 mins break at the end if not taken during delivery.

We have just had a 2nd revision the last 4 yrs ago and our start times where brought forward to 6.15.............zoom on 12weeks and our times are now 6.30 with the possibility that these will change again ffs I am wondering if our Dom is looking to change to these sort of times but Christ it would certainly put business on delivery at a loss so they could look elsewhere no!

I think that sequencing on a Monday night will be a single wave within a year as the batch sizes a quite small. If RM were to make all DOs an 8am start then they'd save having to have any drivers in for MC to DO runs, apart from maybe any large DOs that are open all night or MPUs
